Title: Adding oven cleaning service
Post by: david thomas on January 04, 2013, 01:16:59 pm: Some of my window cleaning custies ask me if I can recomend oven cleaning companies would this be a good add on service or is the job just to much hassle. I looked on ebay you can buy oven cleaning machine with training for around £1300

My concern with this business can the oven cleaning machine produce good results, are the chemicals to clean inside of the oven any good.is there much profit in it per clean

Post by: dd on January 04, 2013, 05:30:43 pm: I know someone who bought in to an oven cleaning franchise. He charged £40 to clean an oven and it took 2 hours of hard work. He had ongoing costs to pay in addition as part of the franchise and came out of it.

Do not know if it is possible to clean ovens more quickly, but it struck me as hard graft for not a lot - even if you do not have the franchise costs.

10 ovens a day @ £40 a pop = £400. That's pretty good wet weather work that is.

It seems that you can average 4 - 5 a day, and costs inc hob are around 55 - 75 each. So not a bad wage really.

after a year or so, it seems you get a lot of 6 or 12 month repeat work!!

Factor in your advertisng and chemicals for those 10 jobs, fuel,and time to clean 10 ovens OMG.
Much rather window clean in the rain ;D
