Do you store the machine with the waste tank lid off so as to reduce any condensation build up within the machine.

We have had customers with others brands of machines have motor issues when only used a handful of times each month with the machine sitting idle for 3-4weeks at a time.

One of my sub-contractors i use to help me out from time to time has a craftex machine and he is the complete opposite. I think he's had it at least 3 years, he never runs the vacs dry after cleaning, never uses defoamer and never stores it with the waste lid up. He uses it a lot more than 20 times per year, infact he worked for me for 6 months last year using it daily, he's never had a problem with the vacs and i have warned him a few times that he will need to change the vac carbon brushes asap with the amount of work they have done, but he seems to think they will go on forever  :o

Rarely used machines will suffer this problem. This is why
backup machines can often fail.

I have one in the shed now awaiting repair- it just blows everything.
Worked perfectly six months ago.

So is there anything i can do to stop this happening as it sounds pretty difficult to prevent, im amazed that they dont tell you this when you buy a machine, and give prevention advice particularly when  just starting out

Leave the lid open when not in use. Carry on with the habbit of running the vacs at the end of the job to dry out.
