Im a middle aged arthritic miserable sod, and my current wand gets heavy by the end of a big clean, leaving me in considerable pain.
Anybody know of a lightweight wand please ?
-
You can get lighter wands, the one's off craftex sabrina's, tennant's, numatic's and other one vac machines, they should work depending on your machine pressure. The only thing is, they have smaller male/female connectors, so you would need to make up a little adapter connection hose with one large male/female to connect to your solution hose and a smaller male/female connector to your wand. If you are not comfortable doing this, see if you have a local carpet cleaning equipment supplier as the usually have an engineer who could knock one up easy for little cost. They are a lot lighter though, so could be ideal for you and a lot cheaper than the heavier wands. :)

Cheers for info ... I'll look into this .

Try a Wonderwand, they are heavy, but move very
easily on the carpets. Bit of a Marmite job though, some
hate them others like me would not be without mine.
A lighter wand often needs more pressure to ensure a
good seal at the carpet interface. With a Wonderwand
you can genuinely use one hand a lot of the time.

You could also try a teflon wand glide, never tried one my self and they are not cheap, most seem about £100.00 if you google it.

Woodbridge Commercials sell a really light weight wand called the Bentley you can have the rolls royce model or they do a 2 piece version they are made by Mytee they also come with a fitted glide.
I'm planning to get one apparentely they land in the UK 12th Jan.

PS No I'm not a salesman for them

Shaun have you got the price of the Bentley?

The collapsable one is £188 plus vat which has a stainless 1.5" tube but in 2 pieces the RR one is £599 plus vat.

Alun beat me to it wonderwand all the way
When you say (leaving me in considerable pain) where about exactly could it be your posture in use

Sean are you talking about the mytee 8300-EZ. It looks like a good wand and half the price of the evo wand. I had the 13 inch evo wand and loved it. The plastic head caved in on mine after 4 years of heavy use tho. I brought the 4 jet westpac wand in place but find it a bit to heavy compared to the evo.

This one although I must have got the price slightly wrong, I think it looks good value for money.
