Hi guys just wanted to know what you all carry tank wise and how you get on with it. i have been changing my tank round and don,t think it's going to work i did have a 650 layflat in the back of my vivaro till 3 days ago. me and the lad went out with 350 tank on Friday and got though the hole tank by lunch time so this is why i was asking.
the reason i took the 650 tank out was due to the insurance/weight/and over all running cost. Do you think i have made a big mistake and will have to put the 650 back in just to get the work done.

I got a vivaro so I could carry 650 liters so if I only wanted to carry 350 liters I would get a smaller van.

thanks mate that's what i was going to do but with two of us then i would be over the weight limit with a small van that why i was going to keep the vivaro and down size the tank. just can not make my mind up

put the 650 back in fill it 3/4 full if it lasts hey presto your not dragging 150kilos everyday for nothing.
Also if you have a guttervac get that out the van. my ladders only go in the van 2 days a month, yes in the van double a frame in a scudo, i only use for flat roof access and a bit of commercial internal. all this excess weight makes a hell of a difference to your fuel bill!
I work on my own & have a 300l tank btw and empty it daily. in the summer i may refill or if i have done a big commercial job in the morning, but most days when the tank is empty im done. Im upgrading to a 500l in the new year, wont nessascarily fill it to capacity everyday though.

Hey James,
Get the biggest you can so you wont be in this position again so soon... U can always put less watering until you need more... I made the mistake of just fitting a 500 litre tank but after 2 months found myself running out during the day more and more often... Now I run with a 1000 litre ibc in the back of my 3500 kg gvw tranny and wished I had done it from the off....
Cheers

Hi James,
I started 12 months ago working from my vectra with 9 x 25 litres barrels.. 3 months later bought a trailer and put my 500 litre tank in then 4 months ago bought the biggest transit I could get hold of... Wished I had done it from the start but there ya go... Hindsight and all that!!!!!
Yup I am a one man set up....

we have 1000 ltr on the van ( 2 x 500 ) for a 2 man set-up i wouldn't have any less than a 650 tank.
Like Paul i have more water than needed for most days as there is nothing worse than running out !
i also carry all my gutter vac stuff inc generator but i have a 3.5t van
