In tescos, she was so tempted to keep it, as we've had the lowest earnings ever in 5 yrs. But she did the right thing, and the guy in his 20's came over with a huge bunch of flowers and £50 to say thanks. just waiting for some awesome karma now.
-
Jeez, well done.
Of course you did the right thing and fair play to that, but
must have been bloody tempting.
I can't honestly say I would of done the same thing right now!
-
Finders keepers. ;D
-
Well done. My first instinct would be to keep it, but I would know that most likely the person who lost it would be suffering and I would hand it in. Well done.

Karma means "intentional action" and refers to the universal law of cause and effect. Karma is created not only by physical action but also by thoughts and words.

How do you know there was a grand in it?
-
well done mate hope you have a great 2013
-
I remember once when I was in a cue somebody found a purse and give it in to customer service then when the person left I went to customer service and said my grandma. Has lost her purse has anybody handed one in,I told them the colour and they give me the purse it only had 60 pound in and at the back was a old lady's bus pass so I kept the Money and binned the purse and put the 60 pound on a horse but it lost.bumper :) ;)
-
Customer service counted it out in front of her. i think he was travelling away for new years to visit his girlfriend.
-
I had last year someone forget to take there cash from cash machine £200. I pocketed it but felt guilty a few days later so took it to the bank and explained what happened and few days later i got a thankyou letter from the rightful owner tracked down by the bank.
-
Id give it in. I know I would hum and har about it, but it would be given in. Maybe not in the past, but couldn't not give it back now.
Karma rules, I've had the evidence. We all probably have, it's whether you recognise it or not.
-
Ive got too be honest, I would of pocketed it
Ive had many things lost & stolen and never had anything back, so it would be ME thats biting Karma right on the bottom ;D

Tell your wife she did the honourable thing, well done to her and I think the person's response was appropriate too.
She can look the world right in the eye and feel good about herself.
As for those that (genuinely - not Bumper cuz I think it's one of his tall tales) advocate keeping it - shame on you.
-
my ex found a wallet & i persuaded her to keep the cash, it was about 17 yrs ago & i still get twinges of guilt & i'm not particularly honest but id never keep it now

My son found £70 in Asda and handed it in, he was only 10 at the time. They thought he was so sweet. If the money is not claimed after 30 days then you can go and get it.
After 30 days we went in and they said it had been claimed but there was no proof, they are to take the persons detals but they didnt have them.
I was annoyed as my son was honest but found the stafff to be the opposite, and i can say that because they were uming and arring.
I made a complaint but never got anywhere.
So a month later my son found £70 in a shopping car park. Now I dont know why he found another £70 we still find it bizzar. Anyway I went in with him and informed customer service that we found money. We would not tell them how much and would not hand it in. I said that if someone asked about lost money then they can call us and tell us how much, if they dont say the correct amount then they will not get the money. I also informed them that i would only wait the 30 days. I did tell the store why I did what I did and they understood.
Knowbody called so he got his £70 in the end.
Honesty pays.

Fair play to you. When you are trying to do the decent thing you expect others to do it too. And well done for earning the money, if no one has claimed it then you've done the decent thing and the money is rightfully yours. If only there were more people like this.

No, not end of. If you hand money in then there is a time limit which is 30 days for the owner to make the claim. If they do not then its yours, end of.
If there was no time limit to claim and you had no rights then where would that money go? would it go to the store? would it go to customer service? No thats why you have this right, it goes to the one who found it. Finders keepers, but in an honest way

No, I don't think you understand the basic concept of karma! Shina's Missis is very probably feeling extremely happy about herself - and quite rightly so - and Shina is obviously proud of his Missis's honesty and integrity too. And the guy who got his wallet back has been given faith in human decency; these are all the effects of karma.
There's probably lots of other positive effects too.
-
I'd of pocketed half.

Ive found £20 as a kid in the street and kept that, ive found a wallet as a 20yr old and handed it in to the campsite, only £20 in it but the person got back to me and her being grateful really made me up,
i found about £50 in a self service till in asda, handed it in, but got no thanks for it, and suspected it would be pocketed by the employee, next time, i will do as the guy above and leave my name and address. found a mobile too and handed that in, or and a fiver. kept that though.
On a simillar note, you can buy joke £50 pocket paper hankys, which when scrunched up, look like the real thing. we have great fun putting them on the pavement on break time and seeing peoples reactions, one person stopped their car, to grab it, great fun!

You know what its like for kids. He thought that he would get the £70 back after 30 days from the store so in his mind he had already spent it. He was gutted when he never got it. Then to find another £70 really made his day and this time after 30 days he did spend it ;D

A few months back I found an iphone with about £100 tucked into the case, I went out of my way to take it to the police station.
They told me that if it hadn't been claimed within 30 days it was mine, so to make sure I contacted them.
as I didn't hear anything I contacted them, it had been claimed the day I handed it in, but I never even got a thank you phone call.
After that experience, unless I actually see someone drop it, then it will be mine. Peoples tough luck for not being more careful.

Yippee! ;D ;D ;D

I went as Jules years ago as fancy dress and if I do say so myself, it was good. I got it bang on and even got my mate to go as Vincent.
The memories :).
