Title: WCP Problems?
Post by: concept on December 27, 2012, 08:26:29 pm
Getting so fed up with having to uninstall and reinstall WCP, on what seems like a weekly basis, I thought I'd chuck up a quick poll.

I'm told by WCP there are no issues with it and can't help me.

Keeps removing customers from rounds .
Misses customers off planned work days .
Keeps putting deleted customers back on rounds .

When I look on a specific day I know roughly how many jobs I have booked but when I look on the planner the jobs are not showing up .

For example last week on 1 round it's £180 of work for the specific day
It was only showing £100 .

I've had issues on a couple of occasions where the activation suddenly failed & it stopped working all together. I had to ask the WCP guys to re-activate me - apparently its related to me installing new software/changing my setup so that WCP no longer recognises my computer as the one its registered to. Its SERIOUSLY frustrating when you have work to do but can't get at your records for 2 or 3 days, and it has cost me money because I didn't remember every job I was due to do without my records!

That is really my only complaint - I should have full control,.. my serial number should work regardless of the computer I use or how I change its configuration - I should be able to get a new laptop, install WCP & activate it with the same serial number (Obviously un-install it from the old laptop) and get it all working again without having to contact WCP.

I do think its a brilliant bit of software though, that is my only complaint,.. although I wish it had been developed more & perhaps an android app produced too,..

Sorry you're still having problems Gavin  ??? Did you get my email about one of your lost customers sent on 11 December? I could find no record of the customer in the file I imported from your WCP database so I think the problem may be more to do with the WCP import than Aworka itself...?

I'm not aware of any issues where customer are being incorrectly removed from rounds or undeleted. There are a couple of things to be aware of, which might explain the behaviour:

- When you delete a job, it's details stay in the database in order to preserve any job history. However, deleted jobs are held in a separate list and cannot be scheduled.

- Jobs are only auto rescheduled when they are marked Done or Skipped. If a job is marked Not Done, auto scheduling will stop and the job will be marked overdue until you add it back on the planner manually.

I'm keen to resolve any issues you have, so please contact me with specific jobs that are misbehaving and I will try to explain what's happening.

I have had the odd problem with custys going missing when i first started using www.aworka.com  but i found them again on the system it was down to own mistakes .

Just not double checking when inputting details and getting used to using aworka as Chris has said basically if a custy asks you to leave windows till nextime  for whatever reason or they are having work done and you cant clean .

Skip the job and dont mark it as not done .  I think that the not done option should be removed from aworka as this will avoid losing jobs for newbies and oldies as we all make mistakes ,  ;D ;D. Mike

Thanks Mike! It's an interesting idea to remove the Not Done option completely... perhaps it should be an option to remove it in your Settings...?

Another idea is to change what happens when jobs are left as 'To Do' on the planner. The default setting is to mark any 'To Do' jobs 'Not Done' if they are neglected for a week: If you want to, you can change this to mark them Skipped instead. That way, you would only have to update the jobs you actually did and let aworka automatically Skip the rest.

Morning Chris,
While we are skipping boxes, please put us in a bank balance start of the month and one at the end. (profit and loss report)
My month shows a loss of over £700 because it does not allow me to show the previous credit in the bank.
It would be perfect in every way then.#

OK Art, I will have a look at how this might work... I'm thinking it could be another row in the P&L showing the balance at the end of each period.

If the plan would be to use to help with bank reconciliation, there are a few potential issues for me to bear in mind: there would need to be a way to adjust the balance to account for withdrawls/deposits; all payments and expenses recorded in Aworka would need to be going via the bank account; bank statements would have to be dated at the start of the month to match up with the Aworka balance values... or maybe it needs its own report...?

Guys, with respect, this is not a thread regarding Aworka, I'm trying to get some feedback on WCP, as I have real issues with it, and WCP tell me there is no issues they are aware of that could cause it.

all they have done is made there quick ££££ by so many people buying it then sodded off to be honest, they could have made a lot of money if they used there head it could have been slightly adapted and used for a lot diffrent trades.

it is out of date now, someone buying it now wouldn't be able to use most of it because there is no help or forum to it.. and to email them and wait days for a reply.. if a reply at all.

Sorry Concept i think the thing is WCP has become redundant as people are moving onto cloud based programs which means that a monthly subscription means a constant income . For the companies

Were as WCP has been left behind if nobody is buying it  then they aint got no money which means they are no longer bothered .

That is one of the very reasons i never bought WCP , Sorry mate for the lack of help. Mike
