Title: The bug man
Post by: Spot On cleaning on February 08, 2006, 07:22:27 pm
When cleaning in a customers house the oneday, she explained to me that she worked in a large office, and quite frequently the bug man as they call him comes in to spray the carpet to stop the creepy crawlies and fleas from biting them.

I have been asked to clean some office carpets for an old customer who has also requested me to possibly spray something onto the one carpet because of the same problem. As this is something that i have not had to do before, i would appreciate any advice.

Do i do it before i clean the carpet, or after? What do i use and how much do i charge? Does anyone do this service on a regular basis and is it profitable?

Calling all bug men out there, assistance needed.

Chemspec do microban, not sure what it costs though or how to apply. Must be worth decent money, can you imagine what the bug man costs??? Perhaps offer a contract where you clean and ` de bug` every 3 - 6 months and offer a discount for the regular work, it may work out cheaper for the customer than bug man call outs!!!!

Chemspec do ultrafresh 3.95 but you need to keep out of the room you have treated.A safer option is no insect from solutions

Pure contact-insecticide for all insect pests, free from Permethrin, works for 6-8 weeks, odourless in use, unrisky for human beings and animals

Hi Des,
We use promite from Alltec and we charge 50% of cleaning charge i.e  if room is £56 then we would charge an additional £28 for protection.
Hope this helps.
