Are they any good? Want to clean some carpets over Xmas and wondered if they do a good job?

No and no.

I'd bet your carpets would still be damp come New Years eve.

According to their adverts, they give 'professional' results! And as one or two people in this industry actually turn up to do a job with them - and charge money - then I guess technically they are not lying!

LOL, listen to Ash by the way.

p.s. dont get me started!

Get a machine that squirts and sucks and after you have done the rooms with the shampoo rinse the machine out and fill it with luke warm water before rinsing out all the shampoo then make sure you go over each area a few times with dry(just vac) strokes....................Alan(swindon)

Go on give it a go, and as you are in the cleaning industry report back on what happens.

Yeah, cause they're good. Don't listen to that lot. Just because they've spent thousands of pounds on equipment and training they think a little machine, with one vac, no suction and an operator with bu--er all knowledge can't do as good a job as they can. Go for it...........and then call a professional to clear-up the mess afterwards.

Brilliant machine, results absolutely stunning, cheap to run, dry in days, no hours. :)

Probably the best decision you made getting rid of your 875 and buying one of them!

Thanks for all the replies. Thought they wouldn't be that great. I have managed to get a company out on sunday to do them for me.

if you've had no training and don't know what your doing then a rug doctor is a pile of crap.

if however you have been fully trained in the art of carpet cleaning and know how to clean carpets really really well then the rug doctor is still a pile of crap ;D ;D merry xmas.

I think rug doctors are a great machine if used correctly. I buy them for my nursing homes and train the staff how to use them. They are great for small stains and spills and if used right leavevthe carpet clean and lighty wet which will dry in a few hours. They have a strong single vac motor that has a very short hose length hence good suction.

They are no good for cleaning large areas as you would be there for about 4 hoursnon a single room.
