Title: Van water tanks

Just curious, do they ever break/split with subzero temps?

no mate the tank wall about 4mm thick so would take some force to break it

How about the tank outlet? I had a similar style fitting fail on my static system in the garage last winter. (Metal tap fitting).

If you look at e.g. the PF set up they fit a metal lever valve to the tank outlet.
