Currently use 2 IBCs set up as follows:
DI
T-piece
Hose to each ibc.
Number 1 ibc has a float valve which when it stops, the water at the t-piece diverts to the second ibc, as the outlet is higher.
The lads drop the transfer pump in the one with the most and take from that.
Now, I'm about to fit a Liquid Logic S2 static system controller, and would like advice on the best and least complicated way for the IBCs to be joined, so when one is full, flows into next one.
Would a simple hose at the top, creating an overflow work simply?

Simon,
if your filling multiple vans.
get some 2.5 inch hose and ibc connectors they will level off quickly or you will be waiting ages if using hose lock connectors and standard hose.
may cost you about £50 but well worth it trust me, it drove me mental when I had three connected together.

Where from Ian?

Nobody uses2+ IBCs then?
-
I use 2 IBC's the simplest way is to connect them at the bottom. that way they fill and empty at the same time. No need for 2 fill pipes or moving the pump from one to another.
all you need is a connecter on each of the taps with a length of pipe between.

Neil, thank you!!! What size hose?
1/2" not sufficient so I believe?
-
The hose i have is about 2"OD
That is enough to make sure the flow is quick enough to keep up with the other tank as it empties. It just flows across, so its just like having one large tank.

Any idea where connectors and hose are from please?
-
I got mine from these people www.anchorcleaningsupplies.com/
But they have changed ownership since and moved location so not sure if they still stock that kind of stuff.
i would imagine a call to any of the big suppliers should track down what your after.

My ibc's aren't watertight to the top so I fill the top one (one on top of the other) and have 1inch hose at the top feeding into the bottom tank.
Float valve in the lid of the bottom one to stop the water when both are full.
Works a treat!
