I've just brought another van, its a peugeot partner 1.9d and was wondering whats the best size tank for this size van?

Plate on your van normally on the drivers side door post
Log book as said or doņa search for the right model and age online
As soon as we know this can till you the max you can have to drive safely :)

your payload will be around the 600kg mark.
so going on that you could get away with anything upto a 400lt if you are just doing water fed pole. if you are carrying ladders and other equipment you, like gutter vac etc you would have to have a smaller tank.
dont forget that you, passanger and the fuel counts towards the payload too!

my berlingo has a payload of 600kg. and have 375lts in it. when fully loaded with triple ladders on roof (that i only carry about once a month) me and half tank fuel gave me a spare 10kg to play with!
and have the weightbridge paperwork to prove it too! lol

I'm totally astonished that a van has been bought for WFP without knowing the payload. It's the very first thing that I want to know. Once, a salesperson skirted around that issue and tried to show me the toys that came with the van. I stopped him in full flow. I just told him that everything he said about the van could be totally irrelevant if I don't know the payload. He had to go and find out. It wasn't enough. I thanked him for his trouble and left. Saved us both some time.
I wouldn't buy a van for WFP that had a 600kg payload.
Preferably 1200kg (or close) or, at the very least, 1000kg.
To play safe, I want at least 500kg over and above the water weight though I could live with 400kg and travel lighter. That's for a sole operator (a fairly fat one :) ).
nothing wrong with a payload of 600kg! it carrys enough water on it for a day for one person.

Just make sure you have a dump before starting work in the morning.
always do, got to make room for the halfpound cheese burger and all the coffee during the day! lol

PSA also made a 75kg allowance for the driver on those earlier models - everything else is a sacrifice of payload.

peugeot partners also come in 800kg versions maybe you have 800kg which would be better than 600kg obviously

yes you are right, the 800kg are the Peugeot partner 2.0 hdi or the S 1.6 HDi not the 1.9d that he is on about.

Have you checked the axle weights as well? People often have upright tanks against the bulkhead which means the front axle can be overloaded although the van is within the total payload limit.

yer thats why i have a flat tank in the back of mine, to help spread the weight accross the van

no not had one problem yet, i have fitted non return valves to both my pumps. so if my tank gets empty the pumps are always primed as the water dont got back into the tank. only had 2 air locks in the nearly 2 years of having it, first one was when i first fitted the system, other when one of the hoses got a leak.

The van wasn't brought for window cleaning, I work as an Shop fitter/Electrician on weekends and needed a new van for this 6month contract, but thinking of putting wfp system in when the contract is over, Was thinking 250/350 max tank size & itll be for single operator, so it'll be fine :)

Yer be good for that, ideal starter van for someone.

Yeah I got a 57 plate berlingo and when I had to take some stuff to the tip for my mum it got weighed and I think I worked it out the then 400 litres I used to carry in barrels and a 3/4 full tank would put me bang on the limit.....

Will be a good little van for my little brother to help out on the round in the week :)
