Agreed, even if you only have a small set up to do the odd difficult windows, just to make you safer!
-
im hapy doing the trad method and these rear windows are the only real problem i have to do a "proper" job
i find that cos i cant put the laddrs up against the plastic guttering on the kitchen porch the pole has a fair way to extend to reach and is heavy and im not 100% in control n happy
any advice greatlfully accepted
thanks

Firstly what pole are you using to trad it?
-
unger - i have the std adaptor on the end and use a t bar that is fixed currently
-
If you don't wanna use pure water I'd still suggest buying a wfp like gardiners clx18 and using it the trad way, there very light weight and stiff for maximum control
-
Them unger poles are floppy and heavy mate I've got a 30ft teleplus pole in the garage and would never use it again

watch the detailing at the very end as you may be able to adapt something.
If you have a quick change over adapter, you could wrap a cloth around it and hold it on with a rubber band.
I'm sure there was a video by wagga where he showed himself working at high level trad. He showed his detailing tool, up I can't find the video.
Found it!

yes good point there spruce I used to use a neoprene rod band and wrap it round a scrim on the pole tip to finish off
-
I know its frowned on, but I never had a problem with leaning ladders on plastic gutters in my trad days, they're surprisingly strong, I never had one break.
-
Id get a back pack mate for the ones you struggle with if you dont want to buy a full wfp system
-
Allan, if you don't want to go the wfp route just grab yourself a ladder stand off from eBay to keep you off the guttering.
