i know a little ;) what you should do is run multiple ads and measure which one is giving the best roi its all about testing there are loads of analytical data to look at and target, geeky maybe but that's a massive part of online marketing and social media.
5 pages written of article so far :)

I can't see the point in having loads of other window cleaners liking my page to be honest  ??? ???

Local people is possible customers is different matter might have a look at facebook adds.

with facebook adds you can set the add to certain options like age, area, male or female ect

I wasn't thinking of FB advertising - just buying a load of fake "likes" to get a page off the ground,.. if you come up in search results & have 1500 "likes" whilst your competition have only 150, chances are that potential customers will click your page first.

start a facebook page that is local, i.e. growing up in clean it up or whatever, post memories or pics and encourage others to do the same, once you have a good amount of likes delete all content and change the page name to your company, that way local residents will all be signed up to your company without even knowing it :D

I never typed clean it up as location ???

anyway I got the idea from the scams like "click like if you hate cancer" once they get enough likes they sell it to big company's who change all the detail and low and behold they have 50'000 likes

when you update your page it appears on all the timelines of the people that clicked like, that is why I suggest a local approach, I could be totally wrong of course

If you buy fake likes it has zero effect on google ranking & zero audience impact.

However - I have tried this with my wifes page about a year ago, she had 40 odd real "likes" & was struggling to get more so I bought her 2500 fans,.. since then she's had a small but steady stream of real "likes" each week because ppl obviously think she must bee good to have such a large audience already!!

you are joking right ?

you can't change the name once there are certain number of likes buying them are not targeted and about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Your totally missing the point of Facebook, scamming people is not going to make people like not trust you.
Build the page the right way

Dont think buying likes would really work for window cleaning anyway, for example erm if your looking for a celeb on facebook most people add the persons name with most friends or likes because usally its the real celeb.. however dont think people really bothered with facebook for window cleaning, you might get the odd customer liking your page which may help through there friends wanting a window cleaner by what you post.

I dont no maybe am talking crap... i am trying to put myself in a shoes of a customer. Am sure it does help with advertising your business though if u put pictures up of upvc will attract some customers aslong as u have local people on your page lol

It has got me a decent amount of work over the last couple of years. The carpet & upholstery page pulled us about 1000 per month, extra work, so free advertising and that's always good. The window page brought work in too, but the sites we used to post on are either too busy now or nearly dead, so we don't bother anymore as we have enough work.

It's handy if your custies are members on your page etc as you can PM them for payment or access. If you want advice about google rankings etc, ask Nathanael Jones. He'll give you good advice. A page with no traffic and full of window cleaners is worthless IMO.

If all it was about was how many likes, I'd be happy. I've got about 350 on my carpet page, about 550 on my window page and about 1400 on my German carpet page. We get quite a bit of work from our websites now and don't really bother with Facebook.

Hope that helps.
