Hi guys. With much talk about leaving ice on the floor on cold days, I was wondering if anyone has actually been sued because of this? If so, what was the line of argument and the final outcome?
-
I have never in four years heard of anyone.

Its like a lion, every one is afraid of one , but we have never been close to one or even a bite from one.

my insurance company mentioned im covered for these things and i asked them the same question they said they had a case but it didnt go far as it was a rainy day and it could have happened by the rain or something like that,i think thou if the person died (which is very unlikely) you will for sure be sued thats why its important to have public liability

Someone I know got £80,000 for tripping over a raised manhole cover. Not quite the same I know.

Al of the above are examples of claims, but not really answering the question. Have any of us window cleaners been sued for ice freezing and then causing a slip?
I've been wfp for nearly 10 years. It's never been mentioned by a customer as a hazard to them, nor have I heard any other window cleaners having a problem. Surely if it was that big a risk, the risk would have claimed casualties by now.

yes i agree not had any probs either yet
-
Not me, but I have warned customers of the dangers and offered to salt. Some decline because of their plants others are grateful.

12 years window cleaning and I've never had or heard of any claims either.

With the changing colder winter's, and the all new fancy hot system's we are all indulging in, let's face it, it can only be a matter of time before someone decides the windy left an ice pool, and let's face it, sometimes, some of us do.
Can only be a matter of time I would think.
