Here's a link to the maplin one.. http://www.maplin.co.uk/lead-acid-battery-split-charge-module-37767 (http://www.maplin.co.uk/lead-acid-battery-split-charge-module-37767)  I haven't ever tried it though.

However, I have used the Brocott Self Switching one (as linked to above by richard clues)  and found it great, it's a 30amp too..

the maplins one will only charge when van is running turns itself on and of , you will need couple of fuses and some red , and black  cable wire .

alright so i better buy that one  ??? , im just trying to call the seller but no answer looks like it comes with everything i need inc 4 meters of cable, so maybe i could simply connect them up , where do i feed the cable into the van from the vans battery? i was quoted £130 by local wfp place to fit and supply one of these £60+ vat for the relay and £45 per hour pluss vat to fit :D

You just need to feed from the battery, I ran mine into the van from underneath. You'll find a rubber grommet in the floor, pop it out & bring wires up into van.

I have since disconnected mine as the second van doesn't do enough miles daily to keep the battery topped up. Ended up buying a 2nd ctec  charger to charge nightly.

Does that come with all the wire and fuses too? If not the one I posted is a lot better for the price.

I got this one here, it doesn't seem to be charging. I may have wired it up wrong. Just waiting for my voltmeter to come trough the post to test it ....

Did u wire it up like the diagram showed? Mine never sounds like it charging, it's been on for a year now and battery has never gone flat!

Looks good, but bet it costs more than £40! That's what it cost me for my split charger and volt meter and pump controller. All separate items, if one goes down my system still works.

Yeah I followed the diagram and I believe i wired it up correctly. I hear the "click" when i turn the ignition, so there's power going to it.

I'm starting to believe that the crank battery my be faulty. I've only had this van for a few weeks and ever since i got it the radio normally goes in to "economy mode" only after 10 mins of being on. I may get it tested

it it clicking then its working, so they say, best bet is to get the main battery checked just to see if thats working ok.
