how could i tell a fake petrol washer which is advertised as a honds a GX390 WASHER. is there a stamp or engraved id number on washer to look for. ive been told there are fake washers sold as honda engine washers.

Experience will tell if it is honda "red" or another red. It should have gx 390/340 cast into the block. Also what sort of pump is attached? A long shot but i have not seen fake interpumps or cat pumps yet!!!! Chances if it has one of these it will be ok.... :-\

That is a real one...just change the unloader for one that dumps into a tank. This one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRESSURE-WASHER-K5-2-UNLOADER-VALVE-36-3028-41-BREVETT-/180709572782?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item2a132140ae just check the flow /pressure rating as they do a few different ones.

Hi If it's a GX 390 Honda the engine the block will probably have something like QIEI GCAA-*** ***** stamped on it. It's located above the plastic filler on the Left when you look at the shaft.
Just in case someone has put a Honda pull start on a clone.
Hope this helps
