mick have you not seen that screw on tool for your pole that that guy from russia is selling?he posted on here a few days back.i think it would be ideal for breaking the ice and then you could get them done!! ;) ;D ;D ;D
just normal maintenance window cleaning for me today albeit mostly big posh houses!so business as usual.

did 2 on Saturday, if you are a hot water user then cable tie your hose around the swan neck of the gutter pole, crank the heat up and defrost them as you work, they do take a little longer but it is achievable

They can wait, just carry on with windows for now. They're window customers, so theyll be ok.

If you use a wide chisel type tool you can lift out metres of frozen gutter type stuff at a time..that's if the ladder doesn't slip from under you :-\

did two gutter cleans this afternoon both chock a block with crap
but they were a doddle to do with them being frozen,simply picked
the frozen crap out or used a pointing tool to lift it out.
hardly any mess and the gutters left lovely and clean

good idea but why do that? we did 2 today, got my water fed pole, turned on my heater , and just hold the top brush on top of the gutter, let hot water poor in to the gutter and hey presto, and just sucked all the rubbish in no time,
The only thing, you need the hot water system though. :)

i had the same thing yesterday, drove all the way to do a gutter clear off the ladders and frozen solid. itd take twice as long so i just said ill come back when its thawed

any trowel or pointing tool will easily lift the frozen muck in the gutter
nice easy muck free job when frozen seriously takes half the time,i was taking up to 4foot sections out in one go
good ladder feet on and a bag of sand behind no probs

Depends how much standing water there is before freezing. I agree with the one guy here. If the situation is right you can haul but when the gutters are full of ice.
