anyone heard of these and know what there about?
anyone joined there scheme and got a opinion of them good or bad?
they keep ringing me and asking me to join up, aparently if i join i can then go and get my van serviced by any garage thats also joined get a load of leaflets of a printer joined with them stock up on chems from a supplier joined with them.
and then basically owe there network of other companys that much worth of cleaning.
you basically swap your service, for goods or services on offer from other companys. and they take 5% comission on all transactions
-
have u got to part with any money to join ?
-
not as far as i know, they reckon theres no money up front but they want to hav a meet with you first, and if there is im sure thats wen they will spring it.
the office is in grays, thats your neck of the woods aint it
-
about 40 miles fron me
-
sounds like a con, so supposing thers no money up front firstly,
you will not only owe companys you use but also your have companys come to you for free cleaning, say there companys services are no use to you? what then? you have to clean there carpets for nothing in return.
no chems supplier would join as they be owed a lot of carpet cleaning.
-
could well be a con, i aint got a clue
but what there saying is they allready have chem distributers and they would not just be able to get carpet cleaning, they can get any service or goods from any other members.
tilers, roofers, printers, accountants, mechanics etc. etc.
so in exchange for there chems they could get there shop painted and there vans serviced there books done printing etc.

I had a similar call a while ago.
Did i eat curry? yeah
Did i know a certain restaurant? yeah
Would i clean their carpets in exchange for curries? F off
-
iv just got back from a indian cost me £60 i would have rather cleaned the carpet.
think these are a bit bigger than the local curry house though.
i just done a bit of searching on the web and it turns out there a large franchise covering the uk us australia etc.
i know of one guy thats a member he does debt collecting and security and reckons he gets a bit of work through it but nothing major, havent had a chance to speak to him properly about it though.
im suprised no one seems to have heard of them
-
its a very old system that is usually set up on a very local level by people who know each other works fine. saying that this is something different and should be left alone as it will all end in tears
-
yeah stay well wide of that 1 bet there not after 5% of there carpets cleaned or brakes done on the mrs car !

Hi Guys,
As Carpetclean says barter is older than money, which as people spread out , replaced bartering as a means of exchange of goods/services.
Can't see it cathching on , afterall its so much simpler just to pay for what you want , when you want.
Cheers
Doug

I have a bit of experience in this field in my previous occupation they started trading with BarterCard however it is not so easy to spend any monies you accrue and the price is always pumped up from every angle I know some one with £40K worth of Barter pounds not worth the paper they are written on you have to pay staff to do the job pay the taxman and all that. And come away with X amount of Barter pounds which are very difficult to spend. Honest I would not touch it with a three hundred foot barge pole
