Title: The Natural Sea-Sponge...
Post by: Dani J on December 04, 2012, 09:10:23 pm
I found this article on my face book page, from another window cleaner.

very interesting.

The Natural Sea-Sponge is one of the most efficient tools for Window Cleaners to use...

Try one sometime, the Florida type is the best but the Mediterranean are good but a bit lighter, not as thick !

Large works the best, the size of a softball.

I see cleaners using rags instead and they have several on their belt and they look like their doing the dance of the seven vials !!!

The sea sponge cuts down the use of rags and or scrims quite a bit ! So much so that I would use a 1 or 2 huck towels per day rather then 8 or 10 . Now I use only the scrim and the scrim will last me 3 or 4 days before I need to brake out a clean one !

One day in my first year of training as a Window Cleaner I ask the "Son Of Ettore " training me (my Boss, with 30 years experience) ...

I said... ""When will I be able to call my self a Window Cleaner"" , he told me to throw him my # 10th rag of the day which was very damp, he then threw me his rag the only one he had used all day ! I caught it and it was very dry..."" He said when your rag feels like this by the end of the day then your a true window cleaner ! ""

It was the sponge that got me to that point and that's one of the thing he continued to train me with !

Today the Natural Sea-Sponge is my #2 tool right behind water ! 33 years later !

Try it you may like it, ""The tried and the True""
