Post by: JM123 on February 06, 2006, 02:35:52 pm
I'm looking for a pair of good waterproof neoprene gloves for wfp - anyone know the cheapest place to get them??

The best gloves for WFP are the ones that Omnipole supply, fur lined and totally waterproof and very, very hardwearing.
Neoprene are fine, but they simply are not tough enough for WFP.
The Omnipole ones are around £20, darn fine glove, take a bit of getting used to, but I reckon they're the best thing since sliced bread ;)

I agree with Ian.  Omnipole (red fur-lined) gloves are excellent.

They're big and bulky, but warm and waterproof.

Easy to slip on and off too, for when you need a bit of extra manual dexterity; to write a 'chit' for your customer for example.

I've a medium size hand (but fat fingers :-\) and I go for the extra large.

The same gloves can be bought from Arco for £11.

Those Arco gloves are different, they are foam lined, not fur lined, and as such, that foam will erode quickly.

I got a couple of pairs of unger gloves from 3-cs in portadown last year for about £10 (they were on special at the time)
One pair started leaking quite quickly the other pair still ok.
But your hands stink after using them even after a good wash.

I remember a lot of posts recommending seal skin gloves if thats any help.
