I only trad insides and a few awkward
Windows as a rule but I go though loads if cloths
As I find as soon as they get damp they
Don't detail perfect.
For those that trad all day every day and use
Micro fibres how many do you take out every day
To get consistent perfect results ?
And which ones do you use?
Cheers

Hi Colin there are two of us and we use two each throughout the day but find they do get damp this time of year so just have them on van heater at some stage. We use these http://www.windowcleaningwarehouse.co.uk/shop/index.php?option=com_aceshop&route=product/product&path=75_1_173&product_id=2702

Cheers Wayne I try to dry myn out but I don't stay in
The van long enough to get them dry!
I went though 5 today and that was only
Doing one job on the outsides so they got damp
Quick the rest were all
Internal plus I poles the outsides so they wernt
Getting used all day.
Ill take a look at the ones you use but u think
They are just the same as myn
Suppose if I had a dinner then they would dry :'(

Ah the green unger ones!
I'm told they were good
These are what I had in mind when posting this
Cheers

We find them quite good been using them for a few years now, we tend to just carry on working with no lunch same as you sounds like! I currently use both wfp and trad methods but intend on going complete wfp after Xmas purely for safety!

I use a combination of blue or green flat weave microfibre cloth. I get through 3 a day on average. I use the first for frames/sills and detailing edges. When it has become too damp for detailing I just use it for frames/sills, and introduce the second cloth for detailing, and repeat the process when the second cloth is too damp, with the third cloth.

When I was 100% trad I had 20 scrims and 10 unger microfibres.
Some days when the humidity is low you only need a few cloths all day, especially during the summer, but other days when the humidity is high, I could sometimes use most of them especially if during autumn, winter and spring if the dew point temperature is near to the actual temperature.
The dew point is the temperature at which moisture in the air will condense out onto an object like the grass.
That why some days when your trad, the microfibres seem to get damp or wet very quickly. The dew point temperature changes from day to day. If during the colder months the dew point is just a bit lower than the outside temperature, windows cleaning trad style can be a bit of a nightmare as the cloths become damp almost as soon as you use them.

when i was trad i had one scrim, if you know what your doing a scrim can be used all day as you should be able to wring them dry whenever you want
-
I go through loads a day, the minute the get slightly wet I get a dry one. I dont know why but I was the same with scrims, its just the way I work
-
Wherever possible avoid detailing the bottom of the glass, your microfibres will stay drier for much longer ;)

For the small number of insides and the odd doorway i use the green unger microwipe . If i was trad and doing it all day i would be using a scrim you cant beat them . Mike

Also you can detail the window first, just wipe around the edge with the damp cloth then squeegee try it it works.

Yep, works for me. An old salt showed me this when I first started. Just use cloths to do sills and bottom of frames.

I agree ,if u wipe round frames no need to detail .

in a word Scrim

Thats the one that works for me, or use edge of sgueegee around windows then sgueegee window, who here ever dog eared there channel? and does it really work?

Yes, it works OK on most windows. The little brass clips from Unger get a better result though.
