Had an elderly customer who has MS (i think) pay me today with a blank signed cheque.
Even though i know she can trust me, i was still quite shocked, as i wouldn't ever dream of doing this with anybody (not even the Missus) :o

My ex wife used to take cheques out of my cheque book and sign them. To be fair her version of my signature looked alot better than my own ;D

I have an MS sufferer and she just signs a cheque and I fill it out for her. Done it for years.

And if you put them up a £1 they would cancel lol. I would have kept the Wallet and said this clean is free.....and the next......and the next and laughed my way down the pub. ;) :p
If this happened to you, what would go initially go through your mind? I've often thought how I would react as an incident like this in a flash removes all of life's veneer.
I think I would be embarrassed initially over a stupid mistake.
I know for a fact that I wouldn't have touched the contents, but what is going through his mind? Has he taken anything? Its rude to check infront of the 'good Samaritian' to make sure its all there. Panic would probably set in - the need to get away somewhere behind the door to check to make sure the money is all there in privacy. What happens if some is missing?
Worst of all, what happens if he accuses you of taking some when you didn't?

I have an elderly customer who is now blind, she opens the door and sends me upstairs to get my £10 from her bedside cabinet, there must be £2k in there now.
