Title: Cold water hose that don't go solid?
Post by: VSP Home Care on December 02, 2012, 04:33:19 pm
Has anyone made on yet chaps?  Mine drove me slightly mental today and I'm not looking forward to fighting it this week.

Ditto for my yellow Gardiners Pole hose at the moment  :(

It should be like squeegy rubber; soft hose for Winter and hard hose for Summer.

I'd fork out for it.  I found my hose springing leaks in Summer, on those hot days where big bin lorries run over it as I've stretched it all over the roads and around wheelie bins, and in Winter it turns to wire.

It does get on my left one Tosh, we can send a bloke to the moon, vote Tony Bliar in twice!  Yet we can't find a damn hose that wont make you cry like a baby on a cold day.

I was doing a job today and round the back of the place, there was frost on the ground. The place is all twists and turns and during winter when it's cold it sends me nuts. Almost each  time I move onto the next window, the hose is caught somewhere simply because it won't flex.

I find it quite bizarre that no one makes hose that remains flexible in the cold.

I think if you can still get it is a reinforced rubber compressor hose. It must be rubber like the one used for spray paint cars. It is quite heavy. My father had a panel beating and spray shop and he used to use it in the icy cold and it never got hard. The hose used on a gas welding bottles  (oxi  acetylene )would not go hard in the cold.

This is the stuff i use in winter. Then change it over to standard pole hose.

I worked the whole of last winter with 2 x500 fish tank heater in the tank at night all I had to do was insulate the tank with that silver insulation wrap. Worked very well and the water stayed long enough till the day temp rose and the hose was soft. OFTEN IT WOULD STILL BE WORM BY LUNCH.  i PAID 11 QUID FOR A 1000 WATT AND PUT A 1000 WATT AND A 500 WATT IN. BUT 2X 500 WILL DO.

tHE ONE ABOVE WAS HOTTER AND HAD A STAINLESS STEEL CASING AND THE SETTING WERE OUT OF THE WATER WHICH i FOUND BETTER.
