ive been charging it every night for the last few days and it takes around 3 hours to show a full charge then i disconnect it.
not sure whether to go halfords tomorrow and buy a leisure battery charger??
what do you think guys?
best wishes to you all

I won't have thought there wouldn't be a problem with your Tesco charger.
But to make sure I would contact the suppliers of the power box and ask them. That way you won't invalidate any guarantee.

i use a 6amp charger, but i do use car batteries, charge them every 3 days, paid £10 from scrap yard 18 months ago.

Daz get smart:and get one of these of these smart charger off e bay your battery will last longer as they recon the battery each time you use them. had 3 old back pack batteries and put this charger on to try and revive them.I now have 3 good batteries. Fantastic and well worth the extra.
p s I USE IT IN MY VAN AND BACK PACK

For £40 I would get a ctek charger dazmond read the info I posted last night . The ctek charger goes through a process of desulphation which means it is far safer .
And it is the correct charger for a leisure battery by the looks of it , Your Avon battery is a leisure and should only be charged using the correct charger . Mike

If it,s been OK for 18 months - must be alright.
My first leisure battery lasted about a year - and I used to charge it overnight with a standard 6amp charger - I think by leaving it on it was over cooking the battery.
When I bought a new battery I also bought a intelligent charger - that assesses the battery every few seconds - once fully charged it switches to a maintenance level of monitor the battery. I don't use it every night - as I also have a split charger

Top Tip never leave a battery on the concrete floor while charging as this will effect the life due to the transfer of cold . I have my battery on a wood base in the van and not on the floor. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I can't recommend ctek chargers enough. One charger to charge every and any battery and apart from what's written above, ctek chargers don't over charge the battery or cook it.

Just adding a bit further to what I posted about ctek chargers. If anyone buys one, always buy a 6 stage ctek charger and not that exact one on ebay. The 6 stage charger cost me £35 and does a lot more. I also think the written blurb for the one shown is for the more expensive model and not the one shown and I'm certain you can now buy that £40 model shown on ebay for about £30 from car shops.

The slow trickle chargers are better than the high amp chargers. The high amp charge heat up the battery and bend the plates inside, which bend and knacker the battery.
