Assuming daily use and a quality professional machine, how long should I expect a HWE machine to last? I know they can be repaired, but like cars they will have a finite lifespan.
From reading these forums I see some of you upgrading numerous times, but how long to you keep a machine before pensioning it off?

David,
They can last for donkeys years with new motors and pumps but they tend to not look very good as they get older.

A bit like cars then... they can last indefinitely, some people change them every year, but most normal people keep then for a while...

Could keep it going indefinately with proper care ............. Trigger maintained his old broom for 20 years, only had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in its time ;D

I have one of the first Advantages. It has had 4 or 5 new vacs and 1 pump diaphragm and valve set. It gets a going over with T Cut every so often and still looks the part.
My daughters father in law has my first machine dating from 1980, but it has been in semiretirement for quite a time now.

Hi David
You would want and deserve a new one every 2-3 years with daily use, the older one then becoming back up.
Cheers
