Title: Which pole hose?
Post by: Richy L on November 30, 2012, 10:12:29 pm
I have a 27CLX. It has the yellow pole hose.
I was thinking o changing to a softer pole hose so I can pinch it to stop the water flow and save water, and so save time. I know Tosh does this. If I change over though would a softer/ more flexable hose be more likely to kink? or get puncture?

Also, would pinching the hose all day end up damaging my pump?(WCW backpack)

It won't knack your pump, Richie, these pumps are designed for crop spraying and they would be squirted on-and-off all the time; and the flow would be stopped in just the same manner as 'pinching the hose'; i.e. a dead end.

I use aquadapter hose on my poles and it works a treat, but unless someone can recommend a pole hose, check with them first 'cos I believe they've changed hose types since I bought mine.

HTH.

We still have the same as Tosh uses (Orange), we've also added a couple of extra hose types - those aren't as suitable for repeatedly kinking the hose in the same places.

Hope this helps.

Just buy  an aquadapter!!

I have tried pole taps, kinking hose but nothing beats the AD  ;)

And before people start about the extra weight it's barely noticeable unless your a bit of a wuss of course ;D

Hi Paul I know your pole hose comes highly reccomended for hot water, but which one is it speciffically?

Hi Cleancare,

You can use either with hot water, but the red hose is the one that we recommend for hot, particularly with an Aqua-dapter, as it starts off stiffer and has less stretch.

If using hot with the (slightly) softer orange hose, you definitely need one of our Tube Strengthening Inserts if using it with an Aqua-dapter - or to ensure secure push-fit connections - as the hot water softens the hose.  You can also use the inserts in the red hose (mostly for peace of mind!)

We actually have some customers who use the red with cold and others who use the orange with hot, it really comes down to personal preference!

Hope that helps, let me know if you need any more info.

Paul

What is the point to have a AD if you use a light pole like slx? useless!!
ask Dazmond, he could tell you more about it....

Why's it a joke!!

Combined weight of aquadapter and extreme medium mixed is about 304g, gardeners standard brushes weigh up to 265g , 50 g ain't nothing!! For the speed and water saving I have using the ad.

I have received the hose from aqua-adapter, the orange one, but it is not flexible. It feels like the yellow gardiners pole. It looks like if I kink this over and over again in the cold it will break.
You can't pinch it, I will have to bend it to stop the water supply.

Have I got the right hose?

It wont break, ive had my orange A/D hose for about 2 yrs with no leaks & i bend the hose to stop the water between windows.
Just give it a day or 2 to see what you think

the aqua dapter hose is better in the cold than the gardiner hose, it also kinks well to stop the flow completely, its also durable, kink i all you like it wont split.

I was expecting something like a rubber,(bunsen burner) type hose.

I'll try it out then, I didnt want to connect it up if I had the wrong hose sent to me.

Pure zfreeom's hose is very supple, but if you are useing a tap, it is dreadful as it twists and kinks. The standard Gardiner hose is brilliant with a tap, but rubbish if you are going to pinch it.

its passable I would say far from brilliant though IMO
That is of course if Alex has not changed it again
