As the title says my water pressure is a weedy 42psi.
Can anyone recommend an RO for me.
I have had a 450gpd from Pure freedom but its nearly dead and I plan to upgrade.
Years ago I used a merlin but the low pressure meant it made water at 66ppm!
Is the new version better? Don't want to use a booster pump really.
My tap water is a chalky 460ppm.
Any ideas? Cheers

MATE JUST BITE THE DUST AND BUY A BOOSTER FOR £100 NEW OFF PUREFREEDOM.
MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE ;) ;)

If you stick the booster after the ore filters and before the membranes there shouldnt be as much crap passing through your booster if thats what your worried about??

You have two main options:
1. Switch to an Ultra Low Pressure membrane such as the HF5 membranes. These can produce water at down to 20psi input pressure. However on a TDS of 460ppm these membranes would need to be flushed very regularly perhaps 10 minutes for every hour of use. Alternatively fit a softener before the RO.
2. Fit a booster pump and use standard type membranes such as the HF4 type membranes. These can work well down to about 45-/50psi without a pump but under that they ideally need a pump. This set-up would not need flushing as often perhaps only 30 minutes per week with a 5 minutes flush before each production cycle.
