Title: chinese wool rug

my first wool rug to clean how do i go about cleaning it do i use prochem power burst first when rinse off with prochem fabric solution?
please help i dont want to mess it up

Heavily pre vac first, pre spray using something not too far off neutral i.e something woolsafe. Try prochem pre spray gold, aggetate by hand ( I use chemspec upholstery mit ) acid rinse then re lay pile. If poss take it home and do it, turbo dry, and re deliver you can pull more money. 2 rugs 3 x 4 feet one 2 x 3 feet £115. Had them 5 days and did them in quiet areas of the week

play really safe and use micro splitters rinse off with a little frbre and fabric

Hi Andy
Just like to add to what the other guys have said,if it is a woven rug vacuum heavily both sides ,do your dye bleed test and use woolsafe products also be careful using high tempretures when rinsing ,if the rug has a cotton fringe you may find it will take you as long to clean as the rest of the rug so charge  accordingly.Power Burst is a extremly powerful cleaning detergent and is used mainly in salvage cleaning for  commercial work ,dont use it on wool rugs or you will most likely end up owning them.

Andy,

Chinese wool rugs are relatively easy to clean and how you do them depends on how dirty they are.

If its  in a nice condition then use a woolsafe product.

If its very dirty use a higher pH product and acid rinse or neutralise.

Microsplitters are not any safer than detergents , most are quite alkaline , afterall they are phosphates., so it is always worth doing a colour bleed test first.

All depends where you are cleaning it.

If you are able to take it way you can give it a thorough wash through using HWE so long as you neutralise it after but it will take a very long time to dry unless you speed dry with airmovers etc.

If cleaning it insitu, very good vacuum, then either apply microplitter such as Solution No 4 and LM clean or use an LM system such as Texatherm.Either way don't leave it very wet on site it will stink the house out and take a day or more to dry.
