If anyone gets to the end can you let me know if it was worth it.
I made a cuppa, had a sleep, bathed the whippet, and washed the van and it was still only half way through.

I watched about a minute of it and then asked the missus to get me the razor blades.
-
Just the sound of her voice wound me up I felt like punching my iPad .

I'll be interested to see how succesfull their website is at bringing in business

She's trying hard to market her business although I'm not sure how many customers will have the patience to view the whole thing. I think she's missed an opportunity though, why supply customers with an inside window cleaning kit when you can charge them extra to do that job as well. I think my customers would laugh if they wanted the insides cleaned and I presented them with a spray bottle and microfiber cloth and said do it yourself with this free kit.
Simon.

Hi Simon,
What is her business?
I know this sounds a silly question, but are they using this as a way to sell the Concept 2o system as a complete package or is it different thing altogether?
So would their local customers (WFP equipment and van systems) see this as being in competition to themselves, especially as she has a different name to the WFP supply business?

Hi Richard,
I think that would be very interesting to know that.
Its a female presentation trying to catch the interest of female home makers. As I male window cleaner I found her comments about the trade rather downgrading. How can she guarantee that her 3 month trained cleaners will never leave a streaky window, appear exactly on time and never miss a window, even accidentally. Just a load of BS if you ask me.
Personally I think its overdone. The same thing could have been condensed into a few minutes at most. Its like the Zestify.tv cd collection sales pitch. Goes on for hours and they loose your interest in the end.
-
completely over the top,sickly and to be quite frank slightly(a lot?)irritating!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I started to doze off listening to it, I switched it off less than halfway, its to long winded and to long trying to make
a point of its sales pitch.

I have seen this 'OTT' approach work across the pond. Customers end to have a handful of visits per year rather than monthly.
They are clearly targeting women and while we would find it dull I bet many women listening would be doing the Cybil Faulty "Oh I know..." all through it.

Thanks for the link, I've actually bookmarked it.
I have to agreed that it was waaaaaaaaay to long winded but there were great marketing strategies I'm going to be pinching that will be introduced in to our business model in the near future. :-X

It's always interesting to see a different approach to marketing your services. And fair play to her for having a go. Is it me, or does she sound like my satnav! ;D

Remember, go lengthways; not from side-to-side; it's more effective that way.
-
I switched off as soon as I heard that sing song Welsh accent.

You have a Taff doing your satnav? I thought the Tourette one was weird, but that's waaaaaaaaaay out there.
I've PM'd all the mods; we've got our eye on you.

Some gals just do not know how to keep it simple.I worked in the U S A for 3 years and believe me it will not work there.Even at the top end of the market. I thought she was selling a keep fit body magic weight lose system or maybe a face lift, how to look better than your husband`s lover system come U. S. A. Ganlam. style..OMG no.....Kill it before it multiplies.

Trying to be everything to a select few. First, she needs to find potential custies with the patience to listen to the over sensative put on voice tone. Then by the time it gets to the end of the message, they still need to be interested.
They later find out that prices "are from" as little as 3:50 a week, which will mean a 4 weekly clean would be from 14 quid, this has the effect of making people feel they've been duped, extra so when they get a quote of over 14 quid.
Look the lady up in 6 months time, if she's still there and see how it's going. However, I'm out ;D
She's still got more chance of making it than the competition I've got where I am. Surrounded by absolute mongs here, (Luckily) ;D
-
Anyone played it to the Mrs and asked her what she thinks? :-X
Duncan

It made Mrs Bacon angry, as she works with me and isn't happy about being insulted by "this
tart lady" ;D She didn't get past about half of the waffle. So after about 5 minutes, told me to turn it off.
market research at its best 8)
Adjusted due to possible offence being taken . ;)

If she looks at her webstats she will us lot all clicking into her .... you never know she may join the forum :D

LOL!! Just did the wifey test.
Got two minutes in and I got "oh my God, do I have to listen to this any longer?"
Wasn't sure if it would have the same effect on the girls but it clearly does! :D

she must be mad, i wanted to watch the whole thing to find out what she is on about if she thinks a potential customer will listen to that she has another thing coming.
what on earth is she even selling? she is on about this internal cleaning kit and micro fiber cloth , what has she got in the bottle anyway? and thats £20,
then somesort of window cleaning service which is from £14 a month which is pretty much the going rate in some cases too much for example my £15 houses are the same price 2 monthly so hers would be £28,

No, she will replenish the empty bottle free of charge. What she is telling her customers is that she doesn't clean inside windows. Buy the kit, clean them yourself and when the bottle is empty she will replace it. I bet she won't replace it if they cease to be 'delighted' with their external cleans and cancel. :)
Her talking about a service for as little as £3.50 a week doesn't mean anything other than that it isn't expensive - clean windows for just 50p a day sounds even more affordable.
We had a advert on the radio overseas in the early 1990's. Ford was marketing their new Laser (Mazda 323 rebadged) with a 1.6 fuel injected engine. It was the slowest 0 - 60 in it's class, but the marketing boys phrased it as "0 to 100kph in one deep breath." That changed everything. That Ford was fast.
Its not facts anymore, its what the customer perceives/imagines it to be.

She's Danish mate ;D

whats in that amazing bottle anyway?
-
Magic window cleaning stuff.
-
There is a mark on the bottom left of the window frame (on the right) that you may not have noticed; but one of our operators David Halford did. The whole window must now be re-cleaned, then checked again before he signs to say the job has been done.
There are 12 more checks to be carried out on each individual window, on every home that vue window cleaning services. Some of the windows checked are re-cleaned for marks that are barely visible to the naked eye.
what the hell is she joking?
a customer can keep you at a window all bloody day

It is Julie Philips from concept2o, she is actually a very nice woman.
I know the vid is long winded, but for all we know, it could be working very nicely for her
She is running a very successful franchise business as well as selling wfp systems, she also actually frequents this forum, and some of the comments are not very nice at all, she definately is not "a tart"
I wouldn't be happy if some one spoke about my wife like that
-
If you're offended by the girl being called a "tart" by Mrs bacon, I'll lock her in a dark room for 20 minutes, would that be ok? :D
-
I think maybe most are missing the point.
There is a market for high end customers who are a little obsessive about the work done for them.
Professional business women who like things 'just so'
I don't suppose for a second that the visits will be every 4 weeks they will be much longer.
The 'gifts' and spray work well to draw customers in. I have tried it in the past.
-
Why aren't you still doing it?

As I asked earlier, it would be interesting to hear how she sees her business alongside Concept2o.
Concept2o is marketing WFP equipment to window cleaners on one hand and then telling the public that the window cleaner, who has bought their equipment (invested in their equipment), does shoddy work and they would be better off availing themselves of the services of her window cleaning service.
She "wants to have her cake and eat it" as the expression goes. She can't say that this isn't a conflict of interests, as she is using the same address and I would guess the young lady taking the enquiries would answer for Concept2o as well.
And, I don't know Julie at all and am sure she is a very nice person - for me this is a seperate issue.
I have listened to her advert and tbh I felt a little insulted. She's painting all window cleaners with the same brush. I personally would have been very annoyed had I invested in their expensive equipment and was situated in the same locality as them and then heard this.
-
I'm sure when she comes on here as she does from time to time, according to forum mods anyway, she'll be quick to apologize for painting us all with the same brush. :)
-
Why aren't you still doing it?
I no longer need new work.
-
I'm just interested. What were the freebies? If you don't mind me being nosey of course. ;)

Spruce you make a very good point as you say cake and eat it ................... maybe those who know her may like to inform her of this thread and see if she would like to comment especially the shoddy work part.
Hang on they dont sponsor any part of this forum do they ?? ..... hope not or yet another post will dissapear yet again ! ;)

I think there are a lot of window cleaners out and about doing a lot of shoddy work. When we take work of other cleaners the windows are often in a state until we get started.
I have no problem with Julie making observations like this on her advertising materials either. Everyone who knows it knows that it is biased advertising and will judge it intelligently. the very people listening to this tyoe of material will be people unhappy with their current WC for one reason or another anyhow so will agree with it.
-
richard but its overkill, and you get alot of unreasonable abusing cusomters that would happily have someone reclean windows 24-7 ;p
-
Was that picture of the blonde woman her?
If so I think she looks very presentable and she sounds very articulate and well spoken.
I can understand why the wives feel threatened! ;D
I don't think she will pick up a lot of customers in a compact area though as the type she will attract will be far and few between.
I'm with Paul Coleman on this one.

She should be working for Avon lady.
