not too bothered really alan, just that she expected me to have a slot for a full house the next day, thats what got me.

right! got the morning off so going for a slap up grill for 1. then 2 quotes and another full house to round off the day.

not the first time and won't be the last. thinking back though!!! don't most cancellations come at xmas?

I think your average house wife simply hasn't got a clue about the knock on effect it has when they simply forget!
I guess they have far more important things on their minds!  ;D

From experience they are also likely to be the ones who when you arrive, start picking the kids toys off the floor, but have already kindly moved the TV out into the middle of the room.

Then as you start packing up say they will only be ten minutes but need to nip down the till for your money. Half hour later ......

I had a client earlier today who hadnt thought to tidy up. I asked him whether he would like the all the stuff on the floor (toys, pens etc) cleaned as well, but he didnt see the funny side of it!

He then expected me to do the hall for free, despite it not being mentioned on the quote!

I said no but the job still took 1/3 longer than it should have.

I had another girl a few days ago who wanted a lounge cleaning within 2 days, so I said id squees her in on Saturday evening at 5pm. When i got there she announced that she would like her whole house cleaning and proceeded to get upset when I said id have to make her another appointment for the additional rooms!

  ::)

i like the topic and the replies and whilst i chuckle - deep down i find it so disrespectful that some folk dont consider your time - im sure they would be ped right off and the first to complain if they got messed around in their work place.

if they had clean toys and other tat form their desk before they could sit down

that thier boss expected them to do another half hour/hour worth of work for no pay or time off i lieu - bet thier the first out of the door at 5pm.

lol

p.s can you tell ive had a few messers lately -

I arrived at an empty property today.

Oh wait. It wasn't actually empty. A cooker. A fridge. A storage heater.

All of this in the middle of the lounge!!

What do you do?? Move them or walk, hence losing the job and the money!!!!! >:(

Monday we phoned job no.3 half hour before due to say we'd be a half hour late.

"Oh, I've been meaning to ring you, I think it's a bit much to do the bedroom as well."

"Never mind, we can just do the lounge."

"Actually, I think I'll just forget the whole thing. I think you rather bullied me into it."

You couldn't find any less "bullying" style than us - it's something we rather pride ourselves on.

Still rankles, especially as we'd loaded the porty into the van for the first time in over a year just for this job.

Best thing to do is tell them when booking how you want the property prepared.

The other thing that's good is courtesy texts the day before. But I don't always do those and still get stung by the no shows.

It's silly season I had a job on for this afternoon at 3.30 got the dreaded phone call at 1.00 to say don't come something has turned up and can't make it, it did me a right favour as the rubber coupling on my tm wanted replacing so go that done instead.
