I haven't canvassed for ages. Most of my stuff has come by being regular on my round and the neighbours come out and ask you to do there's, or,  they have family who are looking for a cleaner, so you get  recommended and pick up another job.

Nice one Nic. I'm still starting up so a big slog for me. Really looking forward to the time when I'm in your position.  :)

Good luck Robbo, you'll be ok. There's always work out there, it's just finding it. For example, when canvassing a street and the first 6 or 7 say, 'we've got a cleaner', keep knocking coz there will be someone who hasn't got one.
And, don't get me wrong, I'm not a big outfit, just a sole trader, but I've got a decentish round. But I didn't go all out to build one quickly coz I didn't need too.
Do a good job, be regular and neighbours will see and take note. It's amazing how you can pick jobs up from people seeing you looking tidy and doing a good job.   ;D

Be polite and chat to passers by is my tip. Costs absolutely nought.

Yup. Being a very friendly, cheerfull and chatty bloke, but not overly chatty or time consuming, who's just cleaning windows can get you a lot of work over time.

You carry on "just cleaning windows".
Fwiw, I don't actually believe that you actually believe what you write on certain subjects ross.

The only way to get the most compact customers is old fashioned canvassing. Leaflets, websites dont come anywhere near close and are a different league miles behind.
Can get upto 30 customers with a good evening canvass with a few of you out.
Maybe only 2 if a leadlet drop is done from 1000 droped if your licky and maybe 1 every now and again from a website. Van sign writing and word of mouth are as a d whens. The only way to get solid work is to either buy a round for upto 10x the value or canvass them up for free.
