Hi GB,

Yes, that one or http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/aqua-dapter/spares/john-guest-speedfit-straight-connector-black-8mm/ (which are a little more robust) will both fit.

Thats the right one for the mark 2,dont know about mark 3.

You can do a temp repair by heating hose and fixing to metal stem.

Personally I gave up with it after I went through 3 spare push fits and a fair few springs, and i wasn't heavy handed.

I just nip the hose now and have a push fit tap at the brush end, give it a try mate.

Probably just recommend that you get one of these http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/tube-strengthening-insert/ to ensure a good connection (not needed for the red hose) but it's not essential if you're using cold water.

The dark red is recommended for longer poles (lower stretch) and hot water users: http://blog.aqua-dapter.co.uk/2011/12/in-search-of-the-perfect-pole-hose/

Pole hose preference seems to be a very personal thing!

aye as above, the gardeners one,had it laying about so stuck it couple inches before t piece.

Do top windows nipping hose between windows,

collapse pole,

turn tap,

water of,

grab another part of hose,

do bottoms and turn water of.

Really simple, the a/d hose works good for this.

I still really like the a/d though, good bit of kit but this works well too, just another option.

Hi GB,

No problem.  Got your order sent, so it's on the way but I think I may have just missed the collection (sorry)!  I put a Tube Strengthening Insert (http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/tube-strengthening-insert/) in for you too.

mikeyfaerosyth,

Sorry to hear you had any problems, the issues you mentioned are things we have worked on (e.g. the Mk3/Mk3L have a more robust integral push-fit, and there's the JG push-fit option for Mk2 users.  Since the Mk2 the spring has been strengthened and recently design of the main spring has also been altered so that there isn't a stress point as there was before).

We also do push-fit flow control taps: http://www.aqua-dapter.co.uk/hose-fittings/push-fit-pole-flow-control-valve-tap-8mm/

Hi dave0123,

There aren't any Mk1s available now, they were only around for about 5 months.  They attached directly to the pole and required removing the End Screw.

The Mk2 didn't need any modification to the pole, it had a long pipe sticking out of the end and had an extra fitting to allow it to fit to a standard pole.  There are a few recons occasionally available.

The latest Aqua-dapter Mk3L is lighter and easier to fit, and has a few other improvements too.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Paul

what other improvements has the mk3l have appart from easier to fit/lighter??

Hi Paul

what other improvements has the mk3l have appart from easier to fit/lighter??

Mk3 has integral better quality push-fit connector, protected inside the body of the unit.

The Mk3L has 'metal replacement' plastic for the female and male screw threads.  This not only makes the components lighter while being just as strong, but also means they will bite onto a metal screw thread more effectively (eliminating the 'metal on metal' loosening issue that some had).

The Mk3L also has done away with the need for an end cap for the main spring to attach to - one less thing to lose!

Other minor improvements from Mk2-3/L are to materials, processes, spring design to reduce weak points etc. oh and of course choice of colour ;)

Hi paul,

Not really problems mate, just wear and tear and easily fixed.

May stick the mark 2 on a small pole I made up and might get new a/d in future.
don't want to spend just now though until winters over.
