Been looking at these poles over the last couple of days. Anyone used these what are they like worth the money or not? i persume there not as good as gardeners.. but your opinions would be welcomed

Just looked at gardeners pole weight 2100g for 35 reach to 40 feet the 1 you are looking at 2590g 35 reach to 37 this is pole weight no brush

yer there slightly heavier but cheaper, i was just wondering people's opinions on using them i was after a 25ft

the 25ft is only a very very small difference in weight

I've been using my Elite carbon fibre pole for almost 1.5 years now.
It's 30ft but i took 2 sections off so using as 20 ft most of the work,put them back on whenever need to reach higher.
No glue used on the clamps so no need to re-glue.Need tightening with an allen key about once a month.
It's a robust pole i think,i haven't changed or fixed anything on it yet.

customer service is garbage mate I got two 25 ft ones both small sections cracked within a week called him loads off time finally got in touch promised me he would post two new sections still waiting for them that was 4 and half Months ago every time I get in touch fob s me off with lies never again

got a 25 foot carbon pole about 18 months ago . cant fault it . not had 1 problem with it and it is the only pole i use all day every day . clamps are easy to use and not had any issues with them . i used a slx 25 before this and i cant tell any weight difference when using it all day . i do prefer the elite it feels a little more robust and stiffer than the slx. i will be be dissapointed if i dont get at least another 2 years out of it. would i buy another . if you asked me a month ago i would say defo . but now defo not , just on the fact i needed to replace the pole hose , for the first time .it finally arrived after 3 weeks of emails and phone calls and getting fobbed off . buch of twats

Had mine 18 months but Section 1 is wearing quite a bit so have had to respray a good few times along with sections 2 and 3 . Apart from that a quality pole but i will be replacing it with an SLX 35 before next April providing i can get it without positive stops . Mike

I use car spray laquer it provides a tough durable coat that lasts for about 4-5 weeks sometimes longer . Although some lads use PTFE spray the dry formula which dries the same but the last stuff i bought came off in days in wet weather . Mike

I have an Slx40 without stops, just yellow and then red tape that warns me where I am with regard to the end of the section.
I have positive stops on the SLX22 as I do on the CLX22. I prefer the positive stops. If I was using my SLX40 more, I would change them to positive stops.
Changing the pole over from positive stops to non positive stops is very easy - 2 rolls of electrical insulation tape in 2 different, highly visible colours.
Open the clamps, remove each section, remove the stop tape, and replace it with 2 bands of the new tape. The positive stop tape overlaps itself and the non stop tape doesn't.
Gardiners will tell you the correct distance from the end each wrap of tape needs to be, if not I will measure mine for you.
Don't let the recent marketing spat of Facelift put you off the positive stops that Gardiner now use. I prefer them but they are easy to change.

If you go to youtube alex shows you and also gives the distance from the end of the pole, its about 5 inches if I remember

Thanks for that info spruce i have become used to using my 35ft Elite carbon without positive stops and basically prefer my pole that way as it makes taking off and adding sections as and when needed very easy .
Also easy to strip down and clean and maintain and i dont want to have to be chewing on taking a brand new pole apart to remove positive stops when the time comes i will ask if i can be provided with a pole without the stops . Mike

Interesting!!
so the poles seem half decent but not very good customer service, that's a shame! .. i don't no why they set them self's down by doing this when there are so many window cleaning forum's out there for it all to be easily aired.

Mike,what do you use as end base caps?
I bought few SLX caps but they are either too small or too big ???

Squash balls cut the top off to suit size and cut a star shaped aputure in the bottom to allow pole hose to go through and they last for ages . Mike
