Having tried various types over the 7 years I have been window cleaning I can highly recommend these:
www.jokaglovesuk.com
well worth £20 and will last at least a whole winter if not 2 without the worry of snagging them in the connectors. They have a detachable fur lining so can be washed in the maching and are very warm
-
Found them too big and bulky, also they wear quickly between the finger and thumb from using wfp .... my personal experience - though they are really warm till the inners get wet when you have to work at a funny angle
-
i can never understand whypeople spend £20+on gloves, when all you need are workman
rubber gloves and some cotton liners...warm and dry all day long
fools and their money are easily parted :)
-
I use either Aldi gloves or Wilko garden gloves in summer. They'll only last a couple of months but compared to Sealskins etc you'll save lots of £'s!!
-
I've just bought and using this week Showa 377s. Brilliant. Warm and dry hands left them on all day. I find them better than the joka especially for trad. Only £4.70 each off eBay.

I ordered a pair of showa 377 gloves off flea bay yesterday for a fiver never tried them will see when they come......

Me too best gloves i've used.
Done all the seal skinz, unger neoprene, also done rubber gloves with cotton ones underneath.
I hate wearing gloves but hoses wet when reeling in was using all types of clothes to keep my hands clean :'(
No problem now just keep gloves on easy to take off.
Got my showa 377's off amazon £6.70 i think but that included postage (if i remember rightly)

Experience tells me that rubber gloves snag so easily when using connectors - then the hands get wet and cold. Not good in the winter months. The Showa 377's sound interesting though
-
Just looked at the Showa 377's. How long do they last? I would worry that they would get snagged in the hose connectors easily?
-
They are good - you can even use a mobile with them on and handle cash - but:
I find the medium too small and I am not a big bloke, they fit the missus fine.
Got some large size 8 today and they are a lot bigger ???
No happy 'medium' then?
Unless you use the really thin disposable gloves underneath as a liner they smell and so do your hands. :(:o

Cheers Granny, I might give them a try next time I need to order some

Showa 377's top gloves totally waterproof and warm although hands do sweat a bit and gloves end up stinking at least they can be chucked in washer .
As mentioned above get some glove liners and even better on colder days . Mike

The showa 377 look like they keep your hands dry. Do they keep them warm on those cold windy days though? If they do you may have just saved me a few quid as I was just about to spend a lot more!

Strong cold winds today and hands nice and warm ;D ;D ;D. Mike

Not had them long nearly 2 weeks, and I wear the blue thin layers underneath. Mostly wfp and I wring out clothes all day with them on, but not a sign of cracking or leaking. But to be honest if get a month out of them @ £4.70 each for warm and dry hands to get me through the winter, £1 per week is pretty worth it to me. :D

I USE THE SHOWA 377 S AS WELL.great waterproof cheap tough gloves.i also wear the nitrile liners underneath to stop hands smelling.i buy 3 pairs at a time and they usually last about 3 months before splitting(usually between thumb and forefinger).
no black hands from carbon poles
no ingrained dirty hands
no drying out of hands due to pure water
in fact my girlfriend says i have very soft hands for a manual worker.its almost like i work in an office now! ;) ;D ;D ;D
by the way i buy my nitrile glove liners from gardiners at around £5 per 100 pairs.

Thanks for the advice. I've just bought a pair of Showa 377s of EBay, £5.95 inc postage. :D
-
Try Showa 490 Realy good & warm ;D
-
A new pair of Showa 377's have arrived. I will try them next week as have finished this week :)
My initiaL concerns are that they will snag easily in the hose connectors

not snagged mine yet
-
They haven't snagged yet but no where near as warm as the Joka Polar gloves. However they make a good water proof inner glove combined with the robust outer Joka glove

Just see these on amazon, but when i looked on ebay £5 cheaper with postage, took a chance as usually size (L) but went for (M) idea being tighter fit better dexterity :-\
When i looked at these on ebay has a pic of insides (fleece)
Couldn't tell this from pics on amazon just look like marigolds in blue ;D
Thanks for tip Richard :)

The 490's are too bulky. I use the 377's but find they only last a month before splitting. No good when its really cold either unless you use one size larger with a cotton liner.
