Title: Putting prices up !
Post by: geefree on November 18, 2012, 05:51:12 pm
Hi,

I have decided to put my prices up right across the board,

I also think it is best just to write the price increase on my calling slips,/internet banking slips,

rather than write an explanation letter,

my thoughts being,  i would have to explain each time i have a price increase .....with a letter,  and its a bit like asking if its ok?

what do you thing guys?

 ;)

We never announce a price rise, we just put the new price on the slips.     Only ever had one customer question it.

We've done it a few times now, last time we lost 2, out of nearly 400 customers which we were well happy with.
We wrote a very short letter and spent the evening delivering them to each and everyone.

We didnt ask about it we just told them from the next clean the price will be £xx, and a little of the of the reason behind it, rising costs of everything etc etc.
And we didnt say any probs call us!!  The price is the price  ;D

And as said already do it in the new year get the tips in first  ;)

I have so much work which is underpriced. 4 bed detached at £10. The new ones coming on are at £14 with no problem.
Its been my fault, i've never increased, but will be doing in the new year.

Who runs your business?? yourself or the clients that you have, as its like your getting permission to up your prices up.

As for me I just stick them up and if they don't like it they know what they can do find some other mug doing there windows for next to nothing.

For the ones that do get someone else they always asked me to come back and I tell them you can't afford me as you wouldn't of gone to someone else.  ;D ;D

we have put a letter out this month increasing every property by at least £1.00 which will start Jan 2013 and so far 2 cancelations so not too bad!!
Its your business you decide what you want to do and if they dont like it they can leave!

I put mine up every year at the same time, that way if any say it went up last month or similar I can confirm otherwise.
I just put a slip through saying it is going up by...only ever had one cancel, that's because I put it up 25% cos he was a pain.

just in process of putting up prices buy £1 -£2 depending on job. most my new customers are happy to pay £15 so have this as my new min charge for new work.
still got a few at £10 so these need to be bought into line gradually ,
