thanks for any replies.
what online accounts could i use apart from paypal.

Do you do Internet banking , if so , get paid that way

Get internet banking, then log in to internet banking every night, gives you exactly the date and reference when customer has paid. Give customer chance to still pay by cheques for old people.
Leave them this when you've cleaned. Self explanatory.

Payment methods i have are ...
Internet Bank Transfer
Phone Bank Transfer
Standing Orders
Post Cheque
Paypal - paid through my website using debit card
I do collect also but will be scrapping this next year as same as you i am sick of collecting twice a week
-
Firstly explain to the customers why you will not be collecting.
Then give a choice of standing order or BACS,internet banking thru there banking system, maybe cheques for older people.(personally standing orders eliminate all problems)
Leave all your bank details on your completion slips.
Tell them as well as putting it on the completion slip to use their house address as the reference or allocate a number to each customer
Concentrate on one weeks worth of work, say week 1 then move thru the rest,in a few months you will have reduced you collecting times and reduced your debts
Now heres the hard part...if someone insists on you calling back to collect, because thats the way the have always done it imo part company, even if they say they will pay when you clean you still run the problem of them not being in
think business minded

o any of these payment methods deduct fees or a % of the cash transferred to my acount. this is an all new concept, iv decided i will have to travell out of my local area, so fuel expenses will rse.

paypal take a % as do some things if you have a business account.
Just checked my business account invoice for 1 month ... 71 payments in by customers and cost me £12.91 + £5 monthly fee.
Would take me hours to collect from 71 customers, so i see that as a good deal.

A lot of younger customers prefer to pay online. . . . . Leave them your sort code, and account number.
Most older customers like to pay cash, or send a cheque. . . . leave them an addressed envelope ( no stamp ).
A few insist on paying by Paypal.. . . . have it set up on your website.

internet banking is fab man. set it up now.

It's the way it's going johnny,I've switched most if my customers over, they were unsure at first but now prefer it,some just wont change they think of the motto 'your problem not mine' when collecting...I do PayPal they charge say 50p on a £10 but saves on fuel, but really bank transfer (bacs) is the best ...it takes time to change over but worth in end.
-
thanks lads, ill look into change over for new year

That's scandalous mate. Bank transfers should be free.

I will charge 2 quid if not paid in 10 days as it will cost me that to collect or send a reminder its in my T & C¬s Its a admin fee. If that happens to often and your out. No second clean if not paid.I have these fools call and ash when I will be cleaning again. Answer: the computer ( says no) it will not flag you if the account is not up to date. Blame it on the system and your accountant. ??? ??? ???

just as soon as you can put your bank account details on your slips,+ your address - if they really want a cleaner they will pay by one of those methods. the ones who wont well you are better off without them, another tip is dont ever clean past 2 times without getting paid , or aggro starts
i had 3 years of trying to make it work by collecting door to door cash and it was a mistake,as it cost me dear in fuel and time ,wish i had done the bank transfer thing from the outset .
