maybe a silly question but i have a ninja with a induction pump in it i belive its the 135psi but whats the diffrence from induction to standard water pump ?
-
'induction' refers to the type of motor not the actual pump head, I believe an induction motor using a magnetic field to create rotation, this has the benefit that no parts actually touch so has less wear the other type of motor uses carbon brushes that wear down so need replacing.
in summery induction motors last longer
-
Mike is right- no brushes so motor will last indefinitely so long as you remember one thing-
THE PUMP MUST NOT BE SWITCHED ON WITH ANY PRESSURE IN THE SOLUTION LINE.
The brushed motors will start under load but the induction pumps will not- if you leave them more than a few seconds you run a sure risk of burning them out. I have 8 or 10 in the scrap bin where I have replaced the motors on pumps for this reason on other peoples machines. Some manufacturers fit a very small bleed jet to release the pressure when it is turned off.
Otherwise they are great.

oh cheers guys im just not sure if im getting 135psi from it guess theres no way of testing the pressure i dont want to take it out as might be a pic to get back in
-
Andy is that the machine i sold you? Mine has same and was only putting out 80 psi due to a by pass worn. if you
put a small bit of water in the tank and see water coming out of the by-pass outlet with the pump on, you know that's part of the problem. I believe that the pumps with brushes keep the pressure for longer.

ye hello paul just realised why this year dont seem to be quite enough water coming out because begining of year bought brand new wand and where the jutes are they now have filters in them i never knew that took it apart and so ashamed how clogged up they were dam i must be stupid
-
yep powder not mixed in bucket can do that, you can never stop learning can you?
-
i always mix in a bucket its fluf which made its way to the filter on the jets making it hard to get pressure out of wand
