I have heard of people complaining about ultimate master in the past regarding blocking of jets but i am not sure there is any treuth in it. Stu Clark

Gary,
You need a descaler , acid rinse if you have it or an acidic floor cleaner will also do the job.
You could also try a kettle descaler if you have none of the above.
Cheers

Hi Gary cheak hear for hard water areas
http://www.water-softening.org.uk/hardwaterareas.html
If your running a hose to your machine you should think about getting an inline water softner, prevention is better than cure 8)
we use hydramasters descaler designed for cc machines but any pressure washer place should have the stuff

WHAT SORT MONEY ARE THEY JAMES? HOW DO THEY WORK?

simple plastic tube filled with shiney stuff, bolt in van (there not very big) plug hose in one end (hose lock connector) and length of hose out the other side into tank, it's as easy as that, it's like a big britta filter, doesnt stop water pressuer either
But every 150 gallons they need flushing with salt, just as easy unplug hoses swap them around so water "in" now goes through a salt container and into the "out" of water softner and a length of hose on the "in" going down a drain / sewer, it takes about 20 mins to complete dont let them tell u it only takes 5
salt is about £5 a bag and will last about a week with a TM so a porty will last you ages, not sure how much they cost as got mine with the machine buut there not dear

James, I use the same system, but back flush every 800 litres, about 175 galls During the summer I have to do this about once or twice a week.
only takes about 10 minuites and a big bag of salt lasts a couple of months.
-
depending where you live and work depends on how much salt and often you backflush, when we were working in Southampton we were backflushing every 60 gls with full pot off salt and still descaling machine every other week it was shocking without it we needed to descale every couple to few days
remember soft water also has a higher sufactant level which means better cleaning 8)

Live in a hard water area (Thames Valley), use slightly under a pot of salt each flush, only had to descale once, when machine fairly new, due to not using enough salt, martin at H.M. told me ½ pot, but it was not enough.
-
The same half wasnt enough. I find good water pressure helps too, but back in sunny southwest now no such thing as limescale down here but you do have to raise the water from the wells still lol ;D so what TM you got Dave ???

I had problems with ultimate master blocking jets. Machine etc was new from alltec, needed to remove jets to clear. They were overtightened at alltec and had to be removed by an engineer ( at a cost ) using some gas!!! Told alltec about this and they sent me 2 new jets. A week later they sent me a bill for £27 for the jets. Haven`t touched alltec chemicals since, even though I think they`re good >:( Also got a free course with my package, asked and E mailed regarding dates available, still no reply, and no course >:( >:(

Apart from the scale problem, does your wand have filters behind the jets? if not these are quite inexpensive to buy and will prevent any scale actually blocking the jet itself.

Filters from nick at solution,s .Got them on all my wands and there so quick to remove and clean Also make sure you use a clean bucket for filling and an other for dirty water
-
pileprofile, had a boxxer since Feb 2004, Great m/c, great backup but when needs changing will get a diesel, so I can use cheaper red variety.
-
as everyone else has said you need a water softener, other than that poor a water softener like calgon into the water supply and you wont get a blockage and you will get a better clean.
-
right i hav descaled it twice now and its still doing it grrrrrrrrrrrr >:( ive never had this prob before in over ten years so it must be ullt master powder like i said i hav descaled twice took the jets of and run 100ltrs of fresh water through machine and every time i go to clean its bloked after couple mins think i be going back to prochem chems

Dave was going to get the max but decided it was to noisy so went for mine, its got the same blower but not quite the same pressure.
Liahona, ive seen calgon advertised on telle but like i say theres no limesacale in south west so we dont use it, but doesnt it contain detergents and corrosion inhibitors which cant be any good for furnishings.
Gary have you descaled tools aswell, and tried circulating the descaler untill it's hot

Dave Parry, carful you dont get caught using red, huge fine !!!!!!!!!!
-
yes i turned the heaters on and run machine for half hour each time so it got into the heaters pump wand etc then let it stand for an hour and flush it all out with the jets taken of
-
You can use red so long as it is in the tm only not in van tank.
Big thing going at the moment in the canal narrowboat community which says that our lovely cousins over the channel want to tax red to the same level as derv. The boaters dont like it because they use red.
