haha i know what you mean mate i try and clean every 4 weeks customers know when im coming, and we get more money a year ;D but you always get the couple that have to go to the calender to check even tho you know your bang on lol
-
LWC your monthly and i'm sure it was explain to custies from off.
Doesn't matter if you were 4,6,8 weeks.
I found there is always this 2% of customers that are never happy.
Tell em, or write to em. "sorry it's not working out for you, and you feel they would be happier with someone else" if they contact you and ask why, tell them, there probably back down.
If not, so what!
Same if you don't hear back. ;)
-
Lol Lee, you ever done that?

Remember the " good old days " when windows were cleaned every fortnight with a leather mop and scrim ?
And the record keeping was an old notebook and pencil, and collecting was a couple of hours on a friday evening ?
I remember when a friend had just heard about a new fancy way of cleaning windows . . . . a squeegee ! It'l never
catch on I thought at the time.
" Those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end . . . . . ;D

Yes, not often but a couple of times.
Did it yesterday funny enough newish custie 2nd clean took long time 1st go to send cheque,
Did 2nd clean she was in and said she'd pay and when knocked said "spent my money leave bill with stamp on" ( i do but that did get me :()
Gave me a speech about being mature student and husband will send cheque.
I understand some people don't have cash on them or can't find cheque book etc.
But got a bad feeling about this one so when she went in i wrote on back of my bill unfortunately won't be able to continue. (cowardly? can't be bothered arguing)
(I use the word unfortunately rather than sorry now)
See text me a rather lenghty text about didn't realese i would like to be paid there and then and she never has cash etc, said she was sending cheque immediately and it's a shame i should text her the day before so she'd have money to pay me)
I just don't want to get into custies over complicating things anymore.
Just got enough work now to pick and choose.
When custie opened door she had lots of bags of shopping from morrisons; I bet they would not be happy with i'l pay you when i remember way of doing things ::)
When you say sorry it's not working for me, they usually want to know why.
I think most people don't want you thinking badly about them ;)
Also on a few occassions when i get asked by a potential new custie and they start laying the law down and it's looking like there gonna be trouble, I say "sorry were not ganna get on" and start walking away.
Only done that a few times but custie has always called me back, and then when i start explaining how i do things they listen without interupting ;)
Oh dear, i'm gonna get slaughtered now ;D
-
im 8 weeks i get alot less of this
had that with monthlys before i should have just gone 6 weeks but was finding it hard to even sell 8 weeks so thought 6 might be pushing it anyway.
as it goes one customer today (established 2-3 years) said my god it couldnt have been 2 months since you been so i showed him the date he was gob smacked its true some people will say the same thing after 4 months even. And dont really understand that we take notes of dates and these dates will come up!they also think a month is like a year away and 2 months is like 2 years they dont understand how quick time passes we do thou!
-
In the end i've said to people mark my visits on a calendar.
They don't and repeat the same speech; so do I :D
Then it's the "I think you would be happier with somebody else speech" ;)
-
you get a lot of this in window cleaning
best smile nod ya head n carry on
playing dumb works ;)
some mths yes 2 cleans
i clean every 28 days not calander mthly
if not its 6wkly at a cost to them ;D ;D
-
I rarely get any comments when i do 4 weekly. When i do i tell the custy the last date i did them and all is fine.
-
Best advice Gav.
Once in a blue moon i get the ump.
silly and not professional, but i think some think that because their the customer they can say what they like and you've got to stand there and take it.
I don't argue and that is why i leave a note in the odd occassion there is a prob :(
-
Used to get it (Im 90% monthly) but hardly ever now after 3 years I would like to think Ive got a good solid customer base and any messers are well gone.
Sometimes they just feel the need to say summit different from "oooo looks like its going to rain" (which my reply is always the same "we live in Wales - its definately going to rain again soon"
Unless they give you a not today or are crap payers then as Gav says just smile and carry on.

It won't work
If your ill, frozen in or go on holiday you could spend the next few months explaining why their calendar no longer makes sense
-
oh well just a thought ;D

if mine say that I agree with them and say we are 4 weekly which is less than a month so we are on schedule happy days :)
