2 hooks on the backdoor should do, hook it in so that the bottom legs are against the door to give the reel clearance to spin.

Surely that cannot be legal as the they protrude beyond the rear stop lights. Some one coming behind you at night think the rear lights being the back of your van and smash into your hose reels. I don`t think its a great idea, to untidy.IMO. ???

i done this a long time ago it does help a little, however you need a system where you can quickly unbolt it in winter as it will easily freeze!

There is a guy near me who has the reel fitted to the roof rack above the back door. Short length of hose comes out through the number plate believe it or not then up to the reel. He seems happy with it and nobody could bump into it that's for sure.

It is legal, no different than having a bike rack on the back of a campervan or car.
As long as the number plates or lights are not covered.

Smart i like it, fast getting to work van and not much mess in van, drips and mud etc.

How is the tank in the van on that ebay link secured?

God knows.. but there's a lot on eBay at the moment with silly little straps around it that don't even look like they would hold 200kg in place... death traps.
