Gazza do yourself a favour do not waste your time with a free website some on here got burnt badly it also looks really bad for service industry

Either get one or don't not having one is as good as having a poor one at least thy way it does not show your company up

Just my thoughts

things that happened 5 years ago are very different today online if you did that now google would sandbox your site

I think that you get what you pay for, we pay £15 a month for a site that brings in a nice steady stream of work form a company called Tattoo web design, and he is a great guy to deal with.    I don't think he is taking on new clients now though as he is quite busy.

A lot of the "free" sites are very hard to get ranked properly on google, especially those that offer the "yourdomain.webs.com" type domain,.. and whats the point of putting in all that effort if no one ever sees it?!

If you want to DIY, then I'd say go for it,.. but I'd always recommend getting some proper hosting & domain name

to add to this you also do not own it either if its free you cannot move it without losing ranking, if the site goes down so does your site you just have to look at office live , if you run a business this should be part of your marketing which always has a cost, free ones have a cost
