Title: ink toner on wool
Post by: garyfindlay on November 10, 2012, 09:44:37 pm
Doing a job next week, ink toner on a wool carpet. (black on cream) Any magic formula?. Checked back and isopropenal was mentioned. Ink company recommended fairy liquid, so its full of it and has grown to about the size of a bearmat

Chemspec Professional Spot Lifter works well for this. A mate is a graphic designer and dropped a syringe full of ink refill. Gave her my bottle from under sink and it all came out.

It's especially good for dry toner from photocopiers. Formula 161 works well for large spills as does Ultrapac Renovate.

For liquid ink Mr.Muscle glass cleaner. I have a printer next door to us and that's what he uses to clean the print heads. I tried it and it works well.

Good tip on the Mr. Muscle, cheap too.

I would go with (because its whats in my van) Alltecs Dry Clean Solvent Spotter then if that does not work Prochems Solvex.

I had a job a few weeks ago like this. Chempec POG did the trick. For the last remaining ink I used Prochem Citrus gel. Customer was well happy.
