THANKS
-
WHAT'S 21 METRES..excuse me, I mean, what's 21 metres of carpet?
-
3 hours travel will probably exclude you from a local quote of perhaps £300.
I would never consider traveling that far unless it was for a valued custy.
-
I would say what Pauls says, but that's mainly because of the time out travelling.
So £600
-
£549.00
-
I'd do it for a monkey.
-
21 METERS SQAURE SORRY
-
ANYONE ELSE ........
-
WHY SO FAR AWAY BARRY, IS IT A REFERRAL OR SOMETHING?
-
if this was at the end of my street I'd do it for £250 and get it done in the morning, if they wanted me to start at 5.45am then I would and not charge any more
travelling 3 hours would cost them an extra £150 but I would travel for half an hour to a job for free any how so really it just an extra 2 hours
-
What a stupid statement Barry.............
First of all.............not many would be prepared to spend 3 hours travel time for a job that appears to worth around £300. If you imagine the client is prepared to pay you for sitting in your van you're nuts.
I know you said T/M owners only, but most of today's T/M'ers would use a rotary on the carpets and most of the modern portables will run a T/M extremely close on upholstery cleaning............where it's more to do with products, hand tools and individual ability.
Curious to find out what's to be " revealed "
Incidentally, If I was spending the full time involved in this job actually working then I'd be looking for around £450.
-
£150 ;D

SORRY ABOUT SPELLING MISTAKES FRIDAY AND BEER O CLOCK

After thinking about this, I remember doing something similar for about £420.
More carpet but a little less upholstery but probably the same time about 4 hours (but I'm quick and organised). So what they paid for was the whole pub to be cleaned over night.
It was about 1/2 half an hour away and had to start at closing time and work into the morning.
I would only do such a job if it were a recommendation and explain your travel cost and price for the job and get verification by email. The reason being, a local company will certainly undercut you because your so far away to be realistic.
-
Barry thats a hell of a discount. I would have added that on top of my normal price just for getting up at stupid oclock in the morning :D
-
How long did it take you to do the job Barry, without the travelling? The carpets were virtually the size of a through lounge and bench seating is pretty easy going depending on soil level. With travelling on top I would have been around the £350 to £400.00 mark. I would say they got a bargain.
-
BARRY, I SYMPATHISE ID BE WELL HACKED OFF. THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY IS COULD YOU NOT HAVE AGREED A PRICE BEFOREHAND?
-
Robert Meldrun said,
Incidentally, If I was spending the full time involved in this job actually working then I'd be looking for around £450.
Well I wasn't far out ;D
And then in retrospect.......I once went to clean a slate floor many years ago which was a recommendation.
Big mistake, looked on the map and it was 1 hour travel and was about 3 hours job for £200. Oh dear, I remember being stuck in traffic for 3 hours on the way back ::)
-
50 miles in an hour and a half !!!! thats 33.33mph
I HAD A VAN LIKE THAT ONCE ;) ;D
£450+ vat

21 METERS SQAURE SORRY
That equates to 441 square meters - then the bench seating on top :o. Reckon all the quotes you have been given above are from the cut price brigade :-\
-
You have to use a bit off common as well.
I have an expanding insurance company HQ near me and do all the charity shops that they take over. ;D
Ocassionally they want me to do 1 or even 2 hours away. I groan a bit but do it for not much more than local price. The client as a whole is worth a lot to me so I don't mind.
-
Why do you need "10 genuine quotes" ?
they are not genuine as this is a forum.
It's up to you what you charge.
-
Theres been some really bad communication between both parties here. I dont get it.
In 10 years Ive never found myself in such a situation.
You never disscused price at all?
-
yes price was quoted before the job started although to be fair i have had a few jobs through this guy so i discount it to get the work however i wanted other people on here to find out roughly what they would charge and im very greatful for everyones in put. thanks
-
Well I'd got the wrong end of the stick, I thought the job was 21 square metres!
