Title: thinking of selling part of my round
Post by: MikeyL on November 09, 2012, 08:54:17 am
Hi I'm thinking of selling a part of my round in Bristol, necessary due to personal circumstances. It  is a very reluctant sale which is why I'm still in two minds whether to sell at the moment.
There is £200 in St Andrews and £128 in Bedminster a total of 15 houses mostly fronts. They are cleaned using WFP every 8 weeks. I would be asking £2000 for these as they are established and great payers with no collecting. Some of these have the backs done when asked for which are add ons. Also I haven't had time to push extras like gutter cleaning or canvass the area so loads of potential.
Just want to know what sort of interest there is.

sorry yeah just over 12 times what its worth per month, so about a year just to break even i still think that's a bit much really for such a small amount of work.

IF all customers were retained.

IF all cleans were completed each visit, no F/O or "not today".

IF all customers pay you.

Indeed, a bargain.

Everyone's A Critic. Sigh.

Imagine if everyone who walked past you questioned and analized your pricing, get a bit tedious wouldn't it.

It's been put up on a public forum for all to view, therefore, have an opinion on if they so wish.

Mikey, a round's worth whatever someone will pay for it, so price it as you see fit.  If someone buys at that price, all well and good.  If not, drop the price till either someone buys it or it's not worth your while selling it.

Sorry back with you. Just to defend myself from the onslaught. If not for the personal circumstances I find myself in I wouldn't even be considering selling this work as it is good work with regular payers. It is the smallest part of my round which is the reason I have chosen this work for possible sale. The price I put on it is what I value it at but if I'm that far out then if anyone is interested I am open to offers.

Which ever way you look at it it seems that he OP wants a years income for his round which does seem a bit high. £2132 PA income for £2k  :o

If anyone from Bakewell wants work at that rate I'm happy to find £5000 PA worth.

How long does it take to clean?

MikeyL's figures work out at about £20 per job and he says they are mainly house fronts.

Now I know that St. Andrews can have some big Edwardian Villa houses, but £20 per front seems a very good rate. Bedminster ditto.

On the face of it it does seem a tad adventurous but if I was looking to buy then I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand - but it would certainly have to stack up as in:-

As described. (high on money, low on time)

Intro to all the customers and pay only those who agree to the switch.

Hold back some money (say 50%) until (say) the custies had three cleans and paid for them.

The work takes about 2 days. There is 4 full houses and one that is only the front if they are out but if you ring the night before he will let you know if he's in or not. The rest are fronts only but like I said some have the back done sometimes. The fronts are 2 bays top and bottom and 1 window plus glass above the door.
