Title: What Do You Think Of The Bumper ?
Post by: GAZZA B on November 07, 2012, 03:30:31 pm
I was just wondering how some are getting on with the new bumper for the gardener brush?
I have got 6 now on all my brushes and today in the cold had some coming off , I think they need to be a little more elastic and a bit softer, what do you all think that have them?

Might be the cold - it does mention on the website that they can be glued on for a permanent fit, which is what I would recommend if using them all the time.

Currently we only have these available for the standard stock Super-Lite brushes - not the Sill, Xtreme, Extreme Wide or the 45cm brushes.

3 Weeks  :o

This must have received quite some abrasion in those 3 weeks as the material is very robust.

I think Bumper is one of the funniest posters on the forum. He's lasted a lot longer than 3 weeks.

I think he misses a lot of windows especially the bathroom and toilet.

Sounds like there could be a new bumper on the block. I wonder which one is best...

You must be overly agressive with your brush use, I ordered mine the week of release and there in great shape and have never moved let alone fallen off.

Hi Alex.

I'm not sure if I abused it or not. I do like to get right into the reveal on a clean and this necessitates a certain amount of scrubbing and abrasion, but I did expect it to last longer. I found it stayed put on the brush and didn't move at all. I bought 2 at the time and use the 2nd on my 2' (cut down SLX) pole. It gets less use and so will last longer.

I guess there is a compromise between stretchability to get it on the brush stock, and durability: soft materials wear quicker than harder. For comparisson a Supalite lasts me between 3 and 4 months before I have to replace it (having turned it once on the head so the worn bit at the top is at the bottom).
