hello all, this is not 4 me as ive got a propex and 2 hotwashes, but a mate who dosent have the funds to do that shortlist, wants 2 go down the ipa route and was wondering what the costs are. Looking at back posts most reckon 10% min, but he gets the water @ room temp so if he went out to clean @ say 10 till 4 in winter -2 degrees c, what do u think he can get away with cleaning on the day? And when hes finished he will drop any water out off the tank, remove hose reels and pump box setup, then in the mornin boil a kettle of pure and put it in the tank 2 thaw out the outlet? So what im asking is the dilution rate @ -2 degree c??? thanks m

@1 degrees he will get away with 0% rate ;) water doesn't freeze until 0 degrees

ok, thanks stu, lets say - 2c then incase?

I tried it before i went hot,and it was a waste of time.Theres a few who use immersion heater in there tank, cheap way to go but works from what i have read.

to be honest I never bother with anything unless it is well below -2, I am not convinced IPA is cost effective anyway, great in a bucket though for trad

IPA - to make enough of a difference would have to be bought in large quantities. Like 50 litres for 500 (without checking details)
There are one or two proponents who seem to think it works like Homoeopathy as in 500ml in 500L, which of course is ridiculous.
Cheap solution? - Go immersion heater.
