hi. coming from my pump there are 2 hoses going up into the machine . one is continiuos but the one pictured has been cut and something added in the middle . is this normal . the reason i ask is when i bought the machine the guy saib the pump pressure had been reduced by roughly half to 80psi but i want to turn it up . there's no switch on the machine to do it so is it something to do with the piece that's been inserted in one of the hoses that comes from it . any help would be appreciated . cheers

Bit difficult to see as pic is sooooooo LARGE and outa focus, sounds like the hose goes to a by-pass valve to the tank.

I know the ninja has an identical arrangement by there is a thumbscrew on the outside of the machine that regulates the flow through it

It looks like the bypass back into the clean tank. The idea is when you are not pulling the trigger the water flows back into the tank to save pressure on the pump. Negates having to have a pressure switch on the pump itself which are always failing.
However there is usually a valve arrangement which means full pressure goes to the tool. In this setup it looks like it permanently flows which will give you reduced pressure at the tool.

sorry for the large photo but all i did was select files . didn't know it was gonna be that big. thanks for answering  though  :)   no thumbscrew on this one . still want the psi turned up though .better still can anybody reccomend someone in hampshire to service it .

Dan,

I live in Bournemouth but work in Southampton a lot. Not too sure about these machines. They are the ones ENTERPRISE started importing when the started supplying.

I don't mind having a look at it for you.

your completely right fran they are the ones enterprise had(i wont use caps lock) . i've never had a problem with the machine . all i want to do is turn the psi up . pointless me buying a new pump if thats going to be regulated as well .

Personally Dan I think the problem may be in the overall voltage of the machine. Best thing to do would be get shot to be honest but for the time being I should think 135psi should be ok.

the engineer at enserve aka enterprise told me he turned the psi down so their cleaners wouldn't overwet a carpet . you might be right but he might be right . if i get a new pump and the flow is being regulated somewhere else in the machine even the new pump is going to run at 80psi . is their somewhere local u get your machines serviced
