this is what i dont understand about heating van . i wrap everthing up and yes pipes still freeze and since being water fed filter casings cracked twice. i dont heat the van as too heat it will cost a lot of money , and if pipes were frost free like mentioned above on way to work pipes would freeze ,
on the aspect of heated water system ok water hot in van but does it not freeze in pipe running along frozen ground , and then when it hits the glass does it not freeze on the glass.
in my oppinion raffer stay at home .

not if the van goes up , insurance will not cover heaters in vans , what stops water freezing in pipe when on the floor or when it hits the glass hot watr freezes faster than cold

Any tips for heating a van that's left on the street? Obviously I can't run power to it, I'm planning to take the pump and reel in on really cold nights but would prefer not to if I can get away with it.

Not too worried about the tank i'll just fill it up late on. Don't think that much water will freeze overnight.

I have already posted what I am going to use, it will be brand new and not off ebay, it will be fixed to the side wall of the van, nothing above or below to catch fire, the butane bottle will also be secured, especially in travel, the system will not be fired up while driving.

All the hoses and connector are brand new and do not leak gas.

When all of this is taken into account, my van will not be any different than a greenhouse, which these heaters are made for.

How many greenhouses have you heard about exploding in the middle of the night.?
