Post by: paul marshall on October 28, 2012, 10:46:37 am
the drivers door on my 06 vauxhall vivaro wont open from outside , i can only open it by climbing over passenger side and opening it from inside , i have spray latch with w d 40 but no luck , just wondered if anyone else has had this happen an if so any tips on sorting it , im useless at all that , so unless its simple it will be a garage job , which means time and money   :-\ :'( :'( :'(

probably broken the handle linkage inside, you will have to take the door card off and have a look.

with my kangoo van the side loading door wouldnt open, i took the door card off and it ended up being the dead locking mechanism wasnt working correctly and would only lock but not unlock, disconnected it and works fine now,

take the door card off and find out why it wont open

I had same problem with vivaro back door. You need to unscrew the screws holding the inside latch and pull back the door lining. You'll need a torch but you should be able to see a connecting rod that has popped out of its socket. They are held in with blue plastic clips.

I popped mine back in and it worked for about a month then popped out again, so second time I put a bit of glue (I used fibre glass resin, but you could use araldite or similar) on the end of a stick and applied it to end of the rod. No problems since.
