£4300 for that ugly van! Far too much, specialy with the high millage.
-
too expensive mate............. but i run an x redg hi ace and its been absolutley bomb proof, just keeps running and running, side doors are brill, best van ive had!!!!
-
If Toyota made an up to date van I would buy one today, as Tim says they are bomb proof. Unfortunately they have stopped making commercial vans now, which is a shame.
It was announced a couple of weeks ago they will be selling Peugeot vans soon, re-badged as Toyota's, so they wont be bomb proof anymore ;D

:Thats very expensive for a van with that mileage :o,shop around some great deals going around at the moment ,I have a merc Vito ,which is very reliable, try auto trader , maybe buy private as their is no vat ,get hold o a mechanic ,who knows a bout vans even if you have to pay him
-
Mine's a Peugeot and it's bomb proof.
Doesn't rust either.... 8)
-
vw transporter all the way ;D
-
I have a hiace, fitted with a tm, 05, not an ounce of rust and in the 2 years I've owned it only paid for windscreen wipers to get it through mot!! not light on juice but a fantastic van overall
does seem a bit pricy with that mileage though
-
Brilliant if somewhat ugly vans. Always come out top in reliability reviews. For that money you could put a lump down on a brand new van and the rest would pay the first years payments then monthly.
Wouldn't be paying more than 2k for any van with that mileage.
-
Like John says.
Parts can be pricey but they rarely fail. Know lots of people with merc and VW because their old vans were very reliable but new ones no better that Ford and pricey parts.
-
thanks for the replys, i also like the vivaros, what year did they sort out the dodgy gearboxes..
-
05 and upwards for the better gearboxes watch out for bad ecus and eat rads as well good on fuel
-
whats ecus susan?
-
Its the electronic control unit, basically the computer that manages the engine.
-
Its the electrics nowadays that cost money to replace or let you down.
Have a two years old citreon dispatch and was bought from new and had no probs as yet thankfully.
-
my local garage has a vivaro lwb on a 08 plate, they want £4000 +vat, its done 129000 with fsh, whats your thoughts, i really an, afford to get stung..cheers
-
I bought a high roof long wheel base 07 plate met silver vivaro , printout of all maintenance from new , one owner (mitie) 85,000 miles taxed and tested ... £2500 plus vat from auctions. It runs perfect, and there are stacks of similar vans in the auctions, why pay retail?
-
cheers jason, i suppose i,ve always thought of auctions as people trying to offload their s**t, i see from your profile your from sheff, is there a auction place near you, i,m from barnsley, may be worth a look..cheers
-
SMA at leeds junction 43 m1 , im in Stocksbridge and it takes me 30 min max to get there , I have got an account there so if you want to go up on Thursday 10.30 I think ill go with you .
I pay hald the normal buyers fee with my account.
The vans are mainly ex fleet management companies , and auctions are the fastest way of getting cash back on them.
Even if my van broke the gearbox , and ecu say , which would be really unlucky , then it would still have cost me well under the 4k you were looking at , and its the sought after high roof long model.
-
I'm thinking of going to an auction for my next van, is the buyers fee a percentage of the over all cost?
-
Its normally staggered up to a certain amount, then after maybe £1000 it'll be a percentage (about 5%).
